This is the place. Live music, good beer, great music, cosy chairs, awesome music, pleasant atmosphere. Great to start your night, finish your evening or to have a great time on its own.

This is a great bar to visit for a chilled, cosy evening. Whilst I only briefly visited one of the larger ruin bars, I much preferred the relaxed atmosphere of this place.

Really good underground bar, ruin bar style with unmatched tables and chairs in all varieties. Live music of very different styles, didn't eat here but good beer and very cheap, large Borsodi at HUF450 (just over £1) was cheapest we found. Definitely recommended

Accidentally stumbled into this bar with my boyfriend towards the end of the night and saw a double bass sitting on the stage so quickly claimed the last two available seats near the stage. We enjoyed watching an interesting and talented gypsy /swing band whilst sipping on draught hoegarden. The bar has a very cosy look and feel with low... More

Lampas is a very cosy and intimate place, near the center. We went twice, once there was live music, and it was full of people, the other time we went at 3 am and it was not so busy, but still open, thing that is quite rare in Budapest. The drinks have honest prices and are good, I would definitely... More

A great little underground bar, actually not so little, on Dob Utca. Drinks are cheap, and there was live music ever both nights we went, jazz singer one night and hip hop another. Great atmosphere in a ruin style basement. We loved it.

A very nice place right next to Spinoza (also recommended!) for the younger generation but not only. Actually it's a pub with live music every evening (I think), really nice staff, friendly atmosphere, a good place to meet and drink and chat and enjoy live music.

This place had very nice live music (jazz jam session). One of the only live music places that you can find in Budapest.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
