Huge portions, nice atmosphere and very tasty food. The service was excellent. The restaurant is located on the busy pedestrian street, Vaci utca, but the place is not overcharged. Highly recommended.

A huge menu with an extremely confusing theme. Ordered a few starters for our table as whole group were really not impressed with the menu. The starters were not as advertised and very bland. Ordered a bottle of wine which was advertised as 4000 HUF, when the bill came we were charged 6500 HUF. Waitress very confused and told that... More

We wanted to try an authentic Hungarian restaurant and found this. You go down via steps into a cellar like restaurant. Good choice of genuine Hungarian food, which was excellent, and good atmosphere.

A nice restaurant with a lively atmosphere, the night we were there. Whilst I was very disappointed with my pork schnitzel the portion sizes were incredible. Others in the group really enjoyed their food, especially the pancakes soaked in rum and presented alight. Overall our food was good value for money.

A little more expensive, but still quite reasonable. Portions are really big, so come with an appetite. Cash only.

We enjoyed a very hearty dinner here on a mid-week evening, whilst on a few days' visit to Budapest, which was part of a trans-European holiday. As with most of the venues we chose whilst away on holiday, Fatal Etterem was selected from the Dorling Kindersley city guidebook. Fatal is located along the more understated side of Vaci Utca, in... Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
