We had a international meting in our offices in Budapest and were "clever" enough to order from Hummusbár. These guys not only have not delivered the food we ordered (the total prince of the order was around 350 EUR BTW) but did't even bother to call us and warn us that they are getting late or to cancel the order.... One of the best places to eat in budapest... or even the best.. Especially if you are into vegetarian diet. Tasty food, nice interior.. Some stuff are a bit pricey but within an acceptable range i guess in comparison with other restaurants.

We ate as a family of four, all tired of the rather greasy, meaty nature of much of the food in Budapest. We were recommended this as the best place in town to eat ME dishes, so we tried and, while I'm not able to confirm if it IS the best, it was certainly very good and involved VERY generous... More

Been here with my boyfriend and I have to say that the food was amazing and at small price! The location is right in the city center, next to main attractions and it is a very trendy place, the stuff was very helpful and the service was fast ( considering there was a large group of people before our order).... We ordered online for delivery. It took an hour and a half for them to get here. Everything was cold and tasted horrible. We figured at least the hummus would be ok cold but it tasted funny. We literally threw all of it away. Waste of time. Waste of money.

Stopped in here for a quick takeaway dinner on a Friday night. The place was busy, but the servers were attentive and did their best to speak English with us to take our orders. The falafel plate was great, though I was not expecting the rice side to be just plain white rice! My friend had the carrot salad as... More

This is the 4th Hummus Bar I've ever had and it is definitely the best and biggest. Waiters are very nice, kind, helpful and quick. The meal is delicious. I had hummus falafel with Laffa. They made the best Laffa here!!

The place is nice and clean and the service was good. The pitta bread is freshly prepared and is great. However, the hummus itself is pretty bad. I ordered "gargirim hummus" (meant to be topped with warm cooked chickpeas), only to receive very cold canned chickpeas atop the dull hummus paste. The spicy paste served aside the hummus, was bland.... More

Very bad hummus. The chickpeas served atop the dish were cold and canned. The lemonade was flavorless. Service was pretty good, and the pita is really nice, though.

Description
We believe in curiosity and the pursuit of new experiences, a journey that leads to far lands and distant times. Since the beginning of time, food has been the most vital necessity for survival and besides that, a main source of joy. This is one of the few things that never change. Food is the oldest venue which brings worlds together. The first hummusbar was opened in 2005, and since then, our restaurants have become a part of the city with several locations. We are present in the most desirable spots of the urban scene with a boutique flavour to our food and our sites. Our food is unique by its simplicity. We use quality ingredients, our dishes are homemade, fresh and nutritious, based on ancient recipes. We keep our atmosphere humble and welcoming. Everyday, we work to remind our guests how simple a thing can be to enjoy life. We are a growing chain in Budapest, Hungary with our eye on the european market.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
