A very good restaurant, they do traditional cuisine with a modern spin. The portions are normal (i.e. suitable for grown-ups), despite the very upscale location.

My husband couldn't eat his meal because it was so salty. Manager was very nice about it and took it off the bill however if you are going to charge these prices everything should be perfect. Price of wine is outrageous especially for Hungarian wine. Next night we took number 16 bus to Pest for a greater selection of restaurants.Buda... More

Pretty poor quality of food. Very basic green salad, really nothing special, beef overcooked, ok desert. Very poor value for the high price.

We saved this restaurant up for our final night. The service was great, friendly with good gluten free knowledge including GF bread. There's a pianist and the food was delicious as was the wine. A good choice that didn't disappoint on the last night.

Ate at Pierrot twice during our weeks trip to Budapest. Food, wine and service were excellent. Definitely one to make sure you visit and far exceeds other restaurants close by. Thank you.

Pierrot started as a cafe many years ago, during the communist era. It has developed and now it serves as a restaurant too. Not difficult to find and it irradiates a good ambiance. I visited the place with Norwegian friends and although the kitchen was officially closed, late in the evening, they were willing to help us with a good... More

Happy to be invited to this restaurant. There was one of the finest food I ever eaten. If you are on Buda castle, you have to visit this place.

Found this place via our guide book and had a lovely meal. Both the chosen starters of vichyssoise and smoked salmon with diced fennel were very good. The salmon in particular was a lovely cut rather than the more normal thinly sliced. My wife had grilled pike perch which she said was delicious and I had what was described as... More

Had a reservation there for 2 on a Thursday night and everything was near perfect we had a lovely waitress that sold us one of the best wines that I have tasted the only thing that drags the meal down to 4 stars was that I ordered pork chops and got 3 which was fine but one out of those... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
