We had eaten here several years ago and were looking forwards to our return visit. We were not disappointed. The tasting menu was excellent We particularly liked the goat dish and the steak. This is a lovely little restaurant which serves great food with excellent...More

We made a reservation by email and luckily were booked in for lunch the following day. Ask for the lunch menu as the 3-course set is superb value for money. Very flavourful - starter of onion soup with nuances of garlic and mushroom, mains of...More

Well there are lots of very positive reviews for this place and I can only say that they are fully deserved. The food is very good, mostly Hungarian inspired with some original touches. The wine selection, if not very large, is quite interesting. The service...More

We enjoyed the 3 course lunch at a steal of a price. The Gnocchi in nettle cream was particularly tasty, as were the Hungarian wines I sampled. No air conditioning and it was a hot day, so keep that in mind.

I am sometimes conflicted in assigning restaurant ratings because while a restaurant may be top of it's class in a given category, say, rustic fare, it would pale in comparison to a fine Michelin-starred restaurant. This is my conundrum with a place like Csalogany 26....More

Csalogany 26 is well worth making a detour to find - its up the hill from the Danube in Buda but well worth the short walk from the river. We called in at lunchtime without a reservation and had to wait around 15 minutes for...More

We had a 8-course fixed price dinner. My husband had the wine pairing and I just had a glass of red wine that was recommended. Each course was presented beautifully. My favorite two dishes were the roasted foie gras and a grilled fish. The wine...More

The food here is outstanding albeit moderate decor. Location is probably a bit off but if you are into good food, I'd highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent value for money.
