The musicians were incredible and such fun. They could not have been more charming and played for hours... traditional Hungarian music, classical, modern romantic tunes... The opera cake and local red wines were superb, and it is a perfect place for before and/or after the opera! I enjoyed it so much, I did both. Thank you Callas! Truly a highlight... More

My daughter and I stopped there after the opera. We really did not plan to go there but it was very convenient and it looked charming and welcoming. It was a perfect choice! Service was great! Friendly and environment nice. They had great food and live violin music. The Opera Cake was a last minute recommendation by a very friendly... More

my mum and dad and I visited this restaurant, it was recommended to us by our hotel as they had no tables left and how glad we were! The decor is breathtaking all 1920's theme, the food was just beautiful and so tasty. The staff were so attentive and friendly then the live music started. 2 violinist, pianist and a... More

France Joseph may be right outside on the way to hear Marriage of Figaro, or so it seems. Elegance without an attitude. Wifi good , waiters dressed for a ball and deferential- and goulash soup and beer to die for, all w a view of the opera and reasonably priced.

Despite the name it is not a Prima Donna place at all - good service and food which at least for us lived up to expectations and more. Indeed the roast lamb was perhaps amongst the best I have ever tasted. I am a big fan of the Olaszrisling from Balaton which here is very good. Service was attentive and... More

The morning omelette was damn near perfect. Same can be said for the duck I had for dinner. A surprisingly quiet place but we didn't mind. Three thumbs up.

This is a classy joint! Very attentive staff. Menu not very exciting but I enjoyed my meal.We were in a hurry to get to the opera so not much time to dawdle. Would like to return for a more relaxed meal.

Popped in for coffee and cake during busy day sightseeing. Beautiful 1920s type decor. Delicious cake and good coffee. Pleasant staff. Would visit again.

We came in to have coffee and a cake. We chose Esterhazi Torta which was excellent. Coffee was excellent as well. We didn't check the restaurant (which looks fancy), but after visiting several Cafe's this is one we would like to visit again.

I went with a group for dinner. the decoration is very traditional and the waiters are in suit, a bit old fashion, but that works well in this place. I liked the food, creative and tasty. The appetizer was a combination of mashed spinach and beetroot on two levels, with red fruit marmalade and salad: excellent! Then I liked the... More
