Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The views of the Danube and Parlment from this place are so spectacular, even the bad service and pounding disco-demolition background music couldn't ruin them completely. When the bells from St Matthias Church began to ring, we could mostly hear them over the horrible music.

Just for a cappuccino on a cold November evening. I was lucky because some tables near the window were empty. View is breathtaking!.Service was good. The price a little bit expensive. Put I suppose that you pay more for the location and the view. For a short stop before you visit all this amazing pieces of art, it’s ok.

The service provided fabulous. We were lucky that there was a seat available, as it was just before sunset. Servers checked on our table frequently and ensured all our requests were met. We ordered the Goulash, Risotto and a local Hungarian wine. I forget the name of the wine, but the pairing was perfect, Hungarian wine is on the drier side. Goulash was ok, as there are other restaurants which did a better job. Overall great view for a sunset to see the city, very lively atmosphere and amazing service.

Amazing views, however unfortunately the service entirely ruined this experience for us. Restaurant was about half full and yet it took around 45 minutes to get a luke warm bowl of soup. We also asked for bread which arrived after the soup was finished unfortunately. I’m not usually one to write negative reviews but felt compelled due to the amazing experiences we had all around this wonderful city apart from in this establishment. Such a shame

When we showed up to the restaurant, we were starving. Our waiters proceeded to pull my girlfriends hair and laugh about it, only to pull my chair out from under me as I tried to sit down. Their strudel tasted like toe jam inside of a rubber shoe. No flavor whatsoever. My girlfriend broke up with me because of what happened. I am battling a deep, dark depression thanks to this place. I have to add that the tea was the worst I have ever had, and that’s saying something. Overall pretty good experience. Would recommend.
P.S. I’m just kidding. Burger was bussin bussin. Fake Doritos not too bad.
P.S.S. You are welcome for your service charge. Xoxo

This place is a total rip off, staff adds 15% extra on your bill when you ask questions becomes very aggressive and starts to lie that its by law taxes- no taxes on the top of the price in Budapesht any service charge is not mandatory in Hungary and its normally 10-12%. Drinks full of ice was hardly any drink there at all, tuna was tastless & dry no sauce. If they see you are a tourist just rip you off by adding 2-3K !! avoid there is much better places just a short walk away. We have 3000 added to my bill without any proper calculations on the bottom, I HAD to pay when 2 tall boys come alone and said it's mandatory! AVOID

Worst service ever, tall blond woman (waiter) was so rude that my wife and me were stunned. We had to leave our table because she wanted other people to sit in our table. The other waiters were nice, but she was so so rude that it completely ruined our experience. Never again we will visit this place...

Live music started playing inside the restaurant louder than a Metallica concert just after we had ordered drinks and food. Insane noise. Absolutely impossible to enjoy the nice food and coffee, or the wonderful view of Budapest.
We asked the waiter to please lower the volume a little. He obviously did not understand or did not care, because the music persisted with almost no change in the volume. Impossible to have a conversation. Impossible to enjoy the food or the view. Starting to get a headache.
It’s a shame because with low volume background music, this place would have been OK. Although a little expensive, but that is to be expected at a main tourist attraction.

We waited 40 minutes for our burger and soup to arrive. The burger was cold and almost rare in middle. The soup was lukewarm. Staff were less than polite. A pitu as our last meal in Budapest and everywhere else had been excellent

Disappointed. View looked beautiful so thought I would stop whilst waiting for my church tower tour. This is the first time I’ve travelled alone and up until going to this cafe it has been great!
I arrived to no window tables but was told I could move to one when it became available. But as soon as a bigger group arrived I was moved away from the window despite waiting five minutes longer than they had. Very disappointing and made to feel embarrassed travelling alone - alone I was not worth sitting by the window.
Really disappointed to be made to feel this way and put a dent in my first trip alone.

After a tour in the cold we made a stop here and got our goulash very quick within 5-10 min. It tasted delicious with a satisfying broth, the meat melted in the mouth and it warmed us just as we had hoped. Beautiful view as well. Paid 1800 ft/6 euro for a small bowl.

The location itself is nice, but the rest is nothing I would really recommend. We waited roundabout 20 minutes for some water and a coffee, then they had smaller sizes for menu items (which was nowhere mentioned). For that price it’s also not worth it.
