We had a nice evening at Zeller. The staff is very friendly and helpful. As you arrive you are treated to a glass of sparkling wine, which is a nice gesture. The menu is quite simple, and most of the food is good. The food is very affordable. The waiters are keen to help with wine recommendations, and they have... More

Soup to Nuts (although I had neither here), this farm to table bistro bats it out of the park. There are numerous excellent reviews - no need to reiterate. Just go. Make a reservation, and just go.

I booked to eat here following the reviews on tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. A glass of bubbly on arrival , where the owner shares the passion for his menu. Speaking proudly of the family farm, home grown meat and home produced wine. We were allowed to sample wines before making a final decision and settling on a beautiful smooth... More

I booked our table at the zeller bistro well in advance of our trip to Budapest based on past reviews that indicated that it was difficult to book due its popularity and quality. Well after our visit to celebrate my wife's birthday I ca confirm that all the positive reviews are spot on. The food was amazing, the ambience first... More

All the food was first class, particularly the carpaccio of local beef, best I've ever had. The ambience and the service were brilliant. Only slight negative was that the pork was served pink, which is fine, but should have asked preference. Don't miss this place and be sure to book as it is magnificent and great value.

This was one of our favourite meals in Budapest. The restaurant doesn't look to be anything special from the outside, but inside it is warm, cosy, welcoming and pleasantly decorated. Whilst waiting for our table to be ready we were treated to a glass of homemade elderflower fizz. We were a party of three, and two of us don't each... More

Missing Zeller Bystro in Budapest is a crime. Must book in advance as it is always full. My dinner just surprised me and wowed me, it was that good. The restaurant is not big but very cozy. The staff are really friendly and pleasant. Will ask about the food satisfaction and will be there for you, making sure you happy... More

This is such a lovely small and family restaurant. We were greeted with a delicious glass of elderflower fizz. Waiters were so friendly and let us try a few wines which they recommended would go with our food before we picked a bottle. The food is exceptional - we had 3 courses and all were brilliant. It's lovely how most... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
