Its a low key restaurant, but the food was lovely with friendly service. I would certainly go back there again.

Good veggie grub in the Jewish Quarter. Very friendly owner/chef/waiter (Mr Multitasking!) Good value for money with generous portions. The decor just adds to the vibe (think retro posters of Bollywood stars, tinsel and windchimes). Definitely worth a trip if you're on the hunt for vegetarian and vegan food in Budapest.

This was the only Indian pure vegetarian restaurant. The meals were set price which you had to choose from. The starters were very nice but would not recommend the main meal as the rice was not cooked, the portions were large but needed a bit of taste as it was bland, The soft drink was from a bottle which was... The food is great! All the dishes are very good. The decorations is kind funny full of Bollywood stars poster. The chef-waitress is grumpy all the time, which I find funny! I go there very often! Also is open every day even Sunday which is weird here un Budapest.

If you get rajma-chawal and dadi-chawal in the heart of Budapest, you know it's a good day. However, the ambience of the place is a quiet low. May be it has been created thinking that's what attracts foreigners to Indian culture. Shady Bollywood Posters, red light, wind chime as entrance makes you think twice before entering the place. It's run... More

The food is varied and of good quality. The service could be improved, the personnel is somewhat grumpy. The place is small but the decor is nice.

Its the best place for eating authentic Indian food in Budapest. For Indians who've been away for a while and missing home food its a must visit. The menu format is pretty simple and the owner also asks for your spice preference. Centrally located and good value for money.

We went there while in Budapest, and it was so good that we went back for dinner every night until we had to leave. It was very cheap. Everything we tried was amazing - I highly recommend the place. Too bad we couldn't take the cook with us home.

We went there twice because the food is deliciously tasty, cheap, fresh and authentic. Excellent Chai Masala, great main courses and open until late. Highly recommended

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
