This was an extremely disappointing meal after reading the reviews. The service was slow and unwelcoming. The food was bland and tasteless with food combinations that just didn't go. The goulash soup was a watery flavourless stew and my fish dish, which was offered as a special, was awful. Then we were given a bill with the service charge (more... More

A really nice cosy restaurant tucked away on the street corner. This restaurant became really busy and we went on a Wednesday night so do ensure you book. Authentic Italian pizzas, great wine and friendly service. Would definitely go back and eat there again.

Great pizza and nice atmosphere. Not at all expensive. Nice decoration. Very spacious unlike most restaurants in Budapest.

Be careful or you might miss it. Down a set of stairs and you are in a different world. Break ceilings, red checkered table clothes, and a down home feel give way to fantastic service and even better food. Our kids split a cheese pizza and lived it. Easy parking for our bob stroller and super clean bathrooms. I had... More

The pizza was really nice, the pasta as well but the coffee was the real star. The staff was really nice and fluent in several languages. Over all good experience, nice prices and cozy environment.

We chose this Restaurant as we had been here before. Lovely cave-like building. Food was great but drinks were a bit pricey but overall an okay place.

We stopped there off chance whilst walking up Vaci Utca and it was a good choice! I had a nice pizza with beef and ham and my fiance had a nice duck Rague kind of a dish with pasta. The service was good and prices decent - very rustic surroundings.

Visited this evening based on the good reviews and the prices appeared to be really cheap based on the menus advertised outside on the black boards. The restaurant was almost empty but we still went in as it is off season. We ordered entirely from the Hungarian menu which was clearly a mistake. All the other dinners were ordering Italian.... We didn't know where to go in the area as we had only just arrived in Budapest. The restaurant was very quiet but we decided to go in anyway. The food was beautiful, the service was good and I would recommend eating here.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
