We visited this nice restaurant late evening with some of friends. We had eaten goose liver Hungarian art and New York burger, and also Hungarian cold plate as appetiser. Everything was very tasty. Also dreher beer and the birspalinka. Service was very attended and spoken good English. Desserts looked good but we were filled, so decided for one more palinka:)... More

We spent a lovely night with my collegaues. The foods were so delicious and the servers were very polite, especially Benjamin. Thanx the unforgettable dinner. I'm sure we will be back. :)

I went here in 2015 with friends and the food was great. I brought work colleagues and it was great. Last year I went with friends and it was awful both the food and service. Tonight I thought I would try again but what a mistake. The food was awful under cooked and cold. At least the service was good... More

Great place to eat or stop for a drink, we did both... Staff are friendly and attentive, and the costs reasonable. Food was good and an atmosphere to match.

A great looking place with good staff. I had chicken paprikash which consisted of two legs and some crumbled dumpling in sauce. Good flavour and tender meat spoilt by most of the bowl filled with small tastless flour lumps. The Weiner schnitzel was huge with a bowl of cold posted and onions. A table next to ours had a great... More

We had a beer here at a table outside in the morning sun, which we enjoyed, and it looked like a nice place to have a meal too, so we returned the following day for lunch. The waitress recognized us on our return visit, and immediately asked us if we would like the four beers again while we looked at... More

We stopped here just for some sandwiches and it turned out that this is a lively place. The interior design is very pleasant ant comfortable. You can sit outside on a sunny place as well. The food was good and good priced. Service was nice and helpful.

Popped in here just on the off-chance for lunch. If you want to experience an authentic Goulash (which apparently is more of a soup) this is the place. On a very cold Saturday lunchtime we were given a very warm welcome. Recommended.

In view of all the good reviews, I expected a wonderful experience and honestly I was really disappointed. Surely the service is friendly but prices are not especially low and the chicken stew ordered was not hot neither very tasty. I don't think it's hard to find something better in Budapest but maybe we were unlucky...

We went in here for a quick lunch and the soup and drinks were fantastic. Excellent service. The only downside was we were hoping to get in and out but it took a long time.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
