Well, the service was not that excellent; the cakes were just fine, but the ice-cream, wow, that was just perfect. I do highly recommend the double chocolate (fekete), that was perfect. Coffee was fine too - Segafredo.

Went here for a lunch, while visiting Buda. Could find a seat on the terrace, whilst it was very nice weather. Had a sandwich chicken and a tunafish sandwich. Good quality of bread and very well filled with tuna and chicken. Not really cheap, but worth every Forint!

At the beginning of March 4 ladies needed sustinance. We had Rantotta which is scrambled egg and onion, mushroom and toast. Very nice. Staff were very friendly. Cakes looked delicious but left for later. However, one of us bought a chocolate for each of us. Very nice.

We were visiting the Old Town of Buda and walked by this coffee house on our way ot St Matyias Church. After going round the church we decided we could do with something to eat. We had the goulash soup which was good value for money and had one of the 'fancy cakes' from quite an extensive collection. We enjoyed... More

We stopped for a break after Fisherman's Bastion an were not disappointed. The only minus was that when paying with a maestro they exchanged to euro's without asking if we wanted to pay in HUF, meaning we felt we got ripped off. But then take local cash with you

Their service wasn't that great, but their english knowledge was bad, since they couldn't even explain us the basics of their meals. Also, the cakes weren't nearly fresh; they seemed

We stopped here after a walk to Fishermans Bastion. It was a lovely little coffee shop serving a selection of Hungarian cakes and pastries. The staff were polite - didn't speak a lot of English but why should they have to. We used google translate to help us. The service was quick and cakes delicious. Would definitely come back

Hungarian cuisine is world renowned so we ate out most meals during our four day stop in Budapest. Enjoyed lovely salads and drink, and very pleasant service.

Very nice cakes and coffee in perfect location in Buda, between Fishermen's bastion and Buda castle. Nice place to warm up and enjoy traditional Hungarian cakes

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
