We happened upon this gelato shop outside the Basilica. There was a bit of a line but it moved quickly! It was fascinating to watch them work their magic in turning the selected flavors into a gelato rose!! The flower is prettier with two or...More

I visited this store one evening after dinner, hoping for a nice dessert. Unfortunately I found the staff unpleasant, the prices expensive and the serving sizes tiny. The flavours were alright, but nothing when compared to Italian gelato. The flowers, whilst looking nice, give you...More

There was a great variety of flavours, the service was quick and polite and the ice cream flowers seemed really cute.

What a great idea! The end result is a beautiful rose. You can have multiple flavors. I tried salted caramel, chocolate chip and white chocolate. All were very good. They don’t except Euros - only credit cards or the local currency. Definitely recommend stopping here.

It is in a great spot right by the big church. I got cherry, strawberry, and mango. I liked the mango the best but all were really good. Loved it.

The ice cream is excellent, this is true and of course the pretty flower patterns made from the ice cream adds whimsy but actually the amount of ice cream you are getting for the price you pay isn't good value. The flower petals for each...More

I'm sorry I really don't know. Like others I was fascinated by the beautiful design. Perhaps they could put the ice-cream in a tub?

Located in the center of Budapest (Basilica), Gelarto Rosa is THE BEST ice cream in this town! Owner, the charismatic Niki Szokron studied the secrets of old Italian family recipes straight from the source in Italy and brought it back to her city. The philosophy behind it: fresh and true quality ingredients, old Italian traditions, modern technic and as final touch, add artistic creativity. The pretty ice cream girls at Niki's shop "create" each and every portion or cone as a unique artwork using ice cream as art material. It's simply amazing! Don't miss Peti (the barista) great Italian style coffee, and have real French macaroon from Juliette McAron.
