Lovely helpful staff who were keen to assist with our vegan peculiarities! Food was enjoyable and the ambience was spot on.

We had a beautiful meal at this restaurant on Sunday 29 January. Set in and old palace, the food was brilliant and the service perfect. It was surprising that we were the only customers given how good it is and could only surmise that people had difficultly finding it (you have to go through an archway off the road and... More

We spent New Year's Eve in this former palace and were treated to excellent food, I particularly enjoyed the smoked dried plum soup, and the waiters were attentive and courteous .There was lively music throughout the evening. After fireworks at midnight we were treated to extra snacks: lentils to bring good luck for the year ahead and cabbage soup to... More

A nice restaurant with friendly staff. The food was very enjoyable but could have been a bit hotter. The interior was quaint with a pianist playing whilst we ate. We had a lovely bottle of Tokai with our dessert. It was an enjoyable evening and good value for money.

The service was very helpful and nice. The piano was pleasant, but we haven't payed much attention. I expected the food to be more Hungarian, but apparently it was adapted to tourists taste. I had pancakes (for the starter and the main dish), correct and well prepared, but it was not a culinary experience to remember.

People should come more! The piano was great and the prices are good. The soup and other food was great. We got free appetizer.

A bit tough to locate but worth it. We were the only customers on a late evening, sat on the patio with a bottle of wine a nice late summer breeze and piano music just for us. Excellent food and service.

The restaurant is located in the interior courtyard of a museum. Sat inside as the evening was a bit cool. The interior is fairly large and very high ceilings. A piano player was there so there was pleasant background music. The wait staff was very nice and helpful. They made a great suggestion for a local wine, which complemented the... More

We went here on the first night of our holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Hungarian food. We sat outside on the courtyard area under a canopy overlooking a grassy tree-lined area to the sound of a very good pianist playing gentle classical music. The service was very good and the waiter very polite and helpful. The starters and main... More

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
