I ate here twice while on holiday. Great food, wine, service. Nice atmosphere; quite, casual, upscale. Nice price.

One of our tour guides recommended BorLa Bor as " A wonderful, reasonably priced, authentic Hungarian Restaurant and Bar with a "twist". The twist must be the embracing waiters and their guidance in helping to choose a dish you will love. We had the Garlic soup, the Goulash soup, the Vegetables with cheese (at least a half-pound slice of two... More

We found BorlaBor on trip advisor after a lovely night trip down the Danube. We were recommended a white wine from the waiter and it was the best wine we had tasted over the three days were were here. For starters i had the Goulash, and my partner had the beef cattle soup with cabbage. Both were totally delicious and... More

We were staying near by and went here because of the reviews on trip advisor. We were staying in January so everywhere seems to be really quiet anyway. There was only one other table eating so there was very little atmosphere. The food was reasonably priced and was okay. I haven't found the Hungarian food particularly exciting so wouldn't rave... The dollar... or the Euro... or the Pound... or any other major currency gives one quite a bang for the buck in Hungary - including Budapest. Basically any and all restaurants in Budapest are reasonably priced in comparison to their equivalents in more expensive cities. This said, BorLaBor gives an exceptional "bang for the buck" in terms of food, ambiance,... More

Second time I visited this place. Last time I was there, around a year ago, the food was delicious, the wine great and the atmosphere on point. I just went here again, and that was an absolute disappointment. We ordered a platter of Hungarian sausages and the like. The bread that was following the platter was moldy, which we discovered... District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
