Booked on their website in advance after seeing good reviews here and elsewhere. Not disappointed with the result - a lovely well balanced meal over two hours of unhurried enjoyment. Went for the Hungarian Taster meal with selected wines, and couldn't fault anything. Nice background of two good guitarists playing lightly jazzy recognisable music, and very attentive staff. Lovely bistro... More

Save Borsso Bistro for your last night in Budapest, as this dining experience will be hard to top. Definitely has a French bistro ambiance, made more authentic by the hand-written chalkboards, acoustic guitar duet as background music, and personal oversight by the owners. From the amuse bouche of duck veloutte' to the final elegant pastries for dessert, food preparation is... More

Really good, had a splendid night. Live music, food, excellent service. The wine recommendation is well suited to the food, and you get the interesting history of the particular wine as well (hungarian wine presented and it deserved it's 93/100).

Simply our best meal in Budapest and one of the best in Europe. The service is impeccable. We had the duck breast and rabbit. My wife's rabbit was excellent and the duck was the best I have ever eaten (I have cooked and eaten a lot of duck). The pinot noir was an outstanding example of the description "complex" when... Highly recommended for couples and celebrations! It's a bit hidden, so from outside you would never know how amazing this place is! Food was fantastic, wine very tasty and the staff members very friendly 👌

The interior of the restaurant is very nice, the atmosphere of an old cafe, from here you do not want to leave! The quality of the dishes, unfortunately, is worse - the level is slightly above average. The wine is good. Service too!

Cosy atmosphere with gentle live music and great service. Food was delicious too with an alteration to make a dish vegetarian.

Absolutely amazing place! My partner & I stayed in Budapest for 3 nights, and we both agreed that this was our favourite restaurant by some distance. The decor and atmosphere was lovely (we've 'borrowed' a couple of ideas for our own home!). The staff were extremely welcoming and attentive, yet distant enough that we never felt uncomfortable - perfect balance!... More

Very good dinner, with good choice of dishes including a taster menu. Extensive wine list, Hungarian wine is very good, no wonder they keep most of it to themselves. The squid risotto was one of the best I've eaten. Put it on your list of places to eat

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
