A very atmospheric restaurant in Budapest, combined with friendly service, good prices and good selection of foods including salads.

The restaurant serves Russian and Azerbaijan food in a very very homey way. Every time I go there I feel like my mother cooked for me. Everything I tried there has been very tasty and good quality. The owner and the waiters are very nice and helpful and I really like the decor of the place as well

Great for vegetarians, vegans as well as meat eaters. This resturant is in the basement of the building, the food was home made & delicious, service was polite, attentive and helpful. You'll need plenty of time to enjoy eating at this resturant. Ask for the vegetarian menu.

I do not usually enter a restaurant which appears to be empty - this is the view you get from the street, but having ventured in and descended to the charmiing and welcoming cellar it all made sense. A mad but delightfully relaxed Azerbaijani lady then slowly brought me interesting food and wine as I had a cellar room all... More

This place is hilarious. I was attracted by the name, also it is mentioned in the Rough Guide. It has a long menu but frankly they will not have anything on it, maybe the weekend. Just ask them what you are going to be eating. It really is Fawlty Towers with good humour. The woman serving/managing is hilarious. She made... More

One of our evening at Budapest, looking place to dinner, we stop read menu outside this restaurant. It looks good, so we went in. I said my wife, " there is almost everything". Items was over 70 pieces. Restaurant is downstairs, so we were little surprised that we were only customers there. When we get menus, was first disappointment, it... More

The environment of the restaurant is beautiful, a cave decorated with oriental rugs. The food was inconsistent: my lamb-stuffed vegetables were delicious, my husband's lamb stew completely tasteless. The waitress was pleasant enough when she served us, but otherwise she resolutely avoided looking in our direction, even though there was only one other table occupied. When we finally caught her... Stumbled here entirely by accident. Inexplicably, we were alone. The goulash was delicious, the chicken paprikas was superb and the Azerbaijani menu's chicken with dried fruit and Tokaji wine sauce was sublime. Service was attentive and the food was hot and fresh. My favourite meal in Budapest.

Big variety of exotic and local dishes and seasonal menus. I enjoyed the flavors even though the dishes were a little small for my preferences. Service was kinda slow even though the lady was very polite.

Spotted the menu outside of this restaurant whilst strolling around Budapest and decided to go back for an evening meal, my wife and were so glad that we did. The restaurant itself is in a downstairs cellar and along with the background music featuring Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra etc leads to a really cosy atmosphere. We both chose to eat... More
