There was a trio playing lovely music, great atmosphere, a mix of locals and tourists, but good food - we had the special which was delicious and definitely have the crepes!

This is my second visit to this restaurant - both on business trips. I was nervous about returning in case the reality did not meet my memory of the previous visit. I needn't have worried - if anything it was even more magical second time around. The restaurant itself is so pretty and welcoming. the waiting was extremely attentive, explaining... More

We love to come here on the weekends. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The service is kind and you feel like you want to bring a book and spend the day. They have live music on sundays. I recommend you make a reservation.

My friend lives close by which is how I found it. Their breakfasts are incredible. Their dinners are pretty damn good. Coffee is good - they even have almond milk which is pretty incredible. One disappointing factor is that the included service charge is not a tip for the waiter! It's more cream for the business- so you kind of... More

We went to this restaurant for NYE with two other couples. The service was great, the location was great, we had an absolute blast. We were told going in that this restaurant had a Michelin star (don't know if that's accurate), but we thought that the plated dinner was awful. The soup was cold, the duck was cold, I didn't... We went there 9 of us on the 1 st day of the year. We had to change the rime of the booking and they were very helpful and easy on that. When we arrived we got nice drinks until we got seated. Service is still fantastic( been there before a few times and was already very nice). We tried... More

Deryne is a cool place. Not a typicall hungarian place i mean could be anywhere in the world. Maybe this is why is full with foreners and people they want to escape hungarian reality. Food is good. They have a fantastic breakfast. There is no other place in budapest where u could have that better. Prices are 40€ for 2... More

We spent the the New Years Eve at the restaurant and had an amazing supper with many excellent courses. The waiters were friendly and fast, and in general the hospitality and the service was excellent. The music however, was dreadful: the amplifiers are not the best quality and it was quite unpleasant to listen to loud canned music the whole... More

This restaurant had been recommended to us so we made it our first choice for our first night in Budapest. Located in Buda this was perfect middle European bistro. Lovely bar and restaurant area in relaxed bistro style. I started with the steak tartare and followed with the braised beef cheeks, all washed down with a perfectly acceptable bottle of... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
