First talk about the other restaurants in Slovenia. We had a blast...very good food as well in Bled as in Portoroz and Korte...price/quality above average...until tonight...we followed TripAdvisor for a restaurant in Piran... the high end list...not the pizza-list. This restaurant is listed in between...the restaurants from two 5 star hotels in Portoroz. In one of these we had a nice 2 course dinner with truffle-pasta and the best white wine of Vinakoper for €76. Tonight we paid over €100 for fish out of a tin can soaking in oil and some pasta with a few clams and some tiny scallops (pétoncles no coquilles St. Jacques!!!). It seemed everybody was having the same starter as described in earlier reviews. The fresh fish marinated in lemon and oil as promised and recommended was nowhere to be seen. Although the nice alcohol (a lot of Gins, Rums and Whiskey’s) and wine bottles (Champagne from Krug and Dom Pérignon, wine from Movia, Edi Simcic and even Amarone from Quintarelli) displayed everybody was the drinking the same “local” Malvasia wine from Croatia?!?!?!?!? The price of this bottle was correct with €22. That’s the only positive note about the bill, but still...telling you have the best local wine and it’s coming from abroad leaves a bitter taste!
As there is no menu, the owner charges prices “à la tête du client”, an older couple paid 80€ for the same starter and the same bottle of wine and some Russian clients agreed as well with the average food for excessive prices...STAY AWAY! There are much better restaurants in the area for less money....More
I was surprised that I found such a great restaurant in this area. It’s a small restaurant with local food. I was very impressed with the food. I would recommend tomahawk with truffles
I would reccomend this restaurant to all gourmans
Stopped in here for dinner Good list of fresh fish on the menu. I had the sword fish which was lovely. Whilst there some other from our group turned up and the Resturant where quite happy to move some tables around so they could sit...with us.Reasonably price food and wine.More
This restaurant was a disappointment. No menue, no prices, and it took a long time before we could order and before we were served. Our food tasted ok (not more) but it was over priced. We could have got a three course dinner for the...price of the main course at any other Piran restaurant! I felt not good to invite my friends there. Not recommendable!More
I was here and the first thing i saw were 1000bottles of alcohol and i fell in love with restaurant..Good memories , best drinks X.O. Rare and stuff u cant get on the coast . I had 1 seabass and it was on some other...level of taste fresh freshh !More
We were charged 138€ for 2 courses, house wine and 2apperitifs. This was appalling value - avoid this restaurant.
I regularly use the Michelin guide for restaurant recommendations and I am willing to pay well for a good meal which is served well, this was...neither.
As there was no menu we accepted the 'waiters' recommendations- our mixed starter relied on pickled fishes with a fish pate, none of this tied together and the vinegar overpowered any flavours. Our fish mains were presented with a polenta which was so salty it affected the flavour of the plate.
Overall this restaurant is a poor representation of Piran, I am here for a few days and have been impressed by several of the restaurants however I have never before been motivated to submit a review until the experience I had this evening and have done so in the hope that others will avoid this appalling restaurant.More
