Wouldn’t even open the door to us. They were booked up so opened the door ajar and told us they were full, so goodnight. It was like being told to go away. So rude. Rude enough to make me write this review!

We enjoyed a fantastic dinner here with the salt crusted sea bass for two. It was cooked perfectly and was so deeply flavorful and light. Starter of local oysters and scallops made for a healthy and delicious fine dining evening.
Great Restaurant for both luncheon & dinner. the waiters are very knowledgable and friendly. The food is simply exquisite; certainly one of the best restaurant in town.
The food was excellent and the service was even better. Our waiter Dejan really knew his stuff about wine and food. He made great recommendations for both. We were not rushed. It was a beautiful evening sitting outside enjoying our dinner. The truffle pasta was...fantastic.More
Beatiful restaurant. Great food, winelist and service. Menus good value for money and great choice. The only thing that went wrong was that our reservation wasn't noted but had it in mij mail. Luckily there was a table for our group.
The food was simply exceptional! In particular, the sea bass with truffles and truffle sauce was the most delicious seafood dish I have ever had, and both friends who ordered it agreed! Also, excellent service and wine selection. Exceptional!!!
this restaurant is fine dining and a bit expensive but it’s so worth it!! first for starters we got the scallops which were absolutely delicious, then for pasta we got the pasta with fresh lobster which was really good the lobster was very tasty and...good and the sauce with the pasta made the perfect match, and as a main course I got the spring lamb and it was the best lamb I’ve ever had in my whole life it was juicy, buttery and soft, and all around AMAZING, and to end I got the chocolate suffle for a dessert and that was so so good and deliciousMore
Man o' man, was this place one heck of a restaurant. It was probably one of the best restaurants we had been to in 9 countries in 31 days when in Europe in March 2023. We had asked for a recommendation for dinner at the...tourist information place and they gave us the place next door who also own this place. The place they told us about was full but they said to go next door as it was owned by the same owners and served much the same food. So glad we did. The restaurant is a Michelin rated restaurant (which we found out after we went). The service when you walk in was impeccable. We were slightly underdressed (as we were backpacking) in jeans and a buttoned shirt but we were still treated well. The menu was very well put together with a good selection. We choose an entre, main and dessert and also had drinks as well. The food was amazing, one of the two best meals I've had (both were in Europe on this trip). The taste of all meals and dessert was just phenomenal. The care it was prepared with translated through to the plate and the meal was just excellent. The waiter was attentive throughout and made our time their enjoyable and memorable. The pricing for this was also excellent. For what we got and what we actually paid for it made it even better. Such a good meal in a beautiful restaurant, amazing service and at an excellent price. This is a must visit restaurant when in Ljubljana.More
From a Michelin listed restaurant I expect more… the quality of the food was very good, but it was neither exceptional nor creative. The service was exerted, but he forgot things we ordered (he apologized without us mentioning it) and his knowledge of wine was...limited: Tokaji is about the origin of wine, orange wine is a way to make wine (independent of it‘s origin): The wines we had were ok, but not more. Go to the Zlata Ladjica - you will pay more, but you‘ll get much more for your moneyMore
fantastic service and a wonderful waiter! the food was wonderful! we had drinks, starters, main dish and dessert! it was all amazing. been here multiple times and will defiently come back next year! wonderful experience:) 10/10
Lovely location in the Old town, tables outside, great local cuisine and wines and excellent service, waiter very knowledgeable about cuisine and Slovenian wines
I was not quite happy with our visit to this place - I had expected better. Our waiter turned out to be too dominating in suggestions and reluctant to show menu and wine list with prices. We got the feeling that he was always trying...to sell the most expensive wines without showing the prices. We had to insist to see the wine list. I complained to the waiter himself and told him that this would be published in a review. He said he didn´t care. But to be fair, the food we ate was outstanding - we had this Classic steak. There was another group of our friends at the same time with different waiter and they were very pleased, so that is also noted here.More
We were looking for a restaurant and happened upon this busy restaurant, the waiter found us a table, he looked after us for the rest of our fabulous evening, his name was Christian, and he was exceptional throughout the night with his food and wine recommendations,...also he allowed the perfect amount of time between courses which even allowed us to sample a selection of their desserts, the whole evening was fabulous, thank you again, hope to be back againMore
We were walking around Ljubljana and by chance found a free table for lunch in Valvasor. Knew nothing about the restaurant before. Nice and friendly waiter, perfect risoto, every meal was very good. We have tasted 4 different Slovenian wines recommended by waiter and all...were perfect match to food and very good. At the end fair price for such nice and unexpected experience. One can usually expect tourist traps on such nice locations in the center of old town but Valvasor is very good restaurant and deserves strong recommendations!More
Valvasor is an upscale, white tablecloth venue in the central pedestrian area. It was a step up from anything we have experienced after a month of travel in the Balkans. Service was prompt and professional. We chose the fish tasting menu and were very pleased...with the variety, presentations and flavors. Prices were above average for the area. This is a very good restaurant and worth it.More
