We actually picked this restaurant because the tables weren’t all reserved. It was an inspired choice. The service was professional and excellent. Our waiter inquired about our tastes and made excellent suggestions for dinner and wine. We started with an amuse-bouche, (pictured) then Istria style...pasta with pancetta and black truffles, second was duck confit with raspberry sauce and finally a small chocolate soufflé with a bit of mango gelato. A wonderful meal and experience!More

We came for dinner and had two appetizers and a main course. Foie Gras was seared, with pears and pistachios- excellent. Marinated octopus with avocado very good. Outstanding lamb cutlets- simply roasted and done perfectly, with flavorful steamed vegetables, and a potato gratin. Desert was...a dark chocolate soufle with raspberries and a mango sorbet- delicious. With 2 glasses of wine and 2 espressos and a bottle of sparkling water the bill was 81 euro- an excellent value. The food was beautifully presented, and our waiter friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!More

The prix fixe menu sampler was a mere $45€ each. Goat cheese with panicotta and turmeric - appetizer. Beef tartare - appetizer. Penne pasta with pancetta & black truffles in a delicate cream sauce. Lemon sorbet, orange brandy. Rack of lamb, red wine reduction and...scalloped potatoes. Homemade vanilla ice cream, currant cherry glaze & chocolate buckwheat crumbles. An excellent bottle of Slovenian Reserve Cabernet was reasonably priced at $39€. The total meal was $155€ - including tip, a true bargain. In the US, a bottle of wine alone, would have been the cost of our entire meal. Definitely worthy of a visit. Service was attentive but not rushed.More

Had a pepper steak and a tagliatelle lobster. We also had scalops for appetisers. The food was not bad yet it did not meet it's expectations. We had asked for medium steak which was overcooked and very chewy. The lobster tagliatelle had pieces of the...shell lcracking up while chewi. The desert was a creme brulee which was ae standard as possible. The waiters tried to serve but having their masks under their chin definitely didn't provide a sense of safety. I didn't regret I went to the place but would definitely not go again. So many more çreative and tasty restaurants in Ljubljana the çompetition is high!More

A very nice restaurant with nice environment. The food was great. Maybe the best food we ate in Ljubljana. Our waiter, Dejan, was really polite and pleasant.

When we arrived, as walks-in, it was so fully packed, we wrote our name in a list and had to come back 20 minutes later. We were lucky to find a table without reservation in this one star Micheline restaurant. We were greeted with an...amuse-bouche green peas, coconut and mille feuilles. Then my husband and I shared an Aspaargus tempura with goat cheese and grana padana, as tasty as original. As mains, we asked for Lamb chops and a Local pasta with ham, pancetta and truffle . We found the Local dessert with ice cream, cookies and fruit jam just ok.More

Well, the food is consistently good there, so I go there as a “save bet” every time I am in Ljubljana. What was disappointing, is that we arrived a few minutes before opening time (4minutes) and the staff member - very rudely said “we are...close until 12!” I looked at my watch, and said, yes, 4 minutes- suggesting to sit and wait, so he shrugged and said sit, but we will come over when ready! In a very bad mood. Let note that tables were set and doors wide open. Very unprofessional and left a bad taste. No pun intended. The rude “we are not open yet” comment happened last year in a very similar situation! But than we were 10 min early. In that case we sat to next door restaurant that also opened at 12, but was smart enough to not complicate and make customer actually feel welcomed. Definitely a room for improvement.More

The restaurant inside is beautiful I will start by saying that ! The waiter needs a reality check with his attitude! I am the customer you are in service you should try and be kind ! The food was good , definitely not amazing but...average. The scallops were cooked nicely but under seasoned. The tuna was how I wanted it but there was no need for the bland vegetables on the side! There’s no reason for them to be in the Michelin guide this restaurant is just average! I was going to order dessert but I couldn’t get past my waiter who was just so unfriendly since I did ask for recommendations and he said everything is in the menu!!!! Who says that??!! It’s my first time ! I got the bill and left !More

We had the tasting menu with fish and loved it. Very good, only 1 problem: the courses followed each other way too fast to be able to fully enjoy the delicious meal. We had to eat a 5-course menu in under 1,5h!

Few months ago, we went to Valvasor just because our (previously) favorite restaurant in Ljubljana was unable to take our reservation. We weren’t happy at first, but.. how we changed our mind😀 The service vas extraordinary. The waiter was probably the best we encountered. During...one of the visits, he overheard us talking about going to Patisserie for another dessert and brought us additional dessert on the house. He never ever interrupts a conversatuon, you never run out of drink and he gives great advice on what to choose. For the last visit, we requested to sit on his part. I will not loose too many words on food, because everything is perfect. Men say this is the best stake and the prices are also a little lower compared to similar restaurants.More

I agree with Lee. Personally, unless their tastes are very mature, I would say there are more children friendly choices nearby. Valvasor is a great restaurant, but very much an experience for the mature palate. Children... More
