Although service can be a little on the slow side and some waiters lost their friendliness some years ago, the food is very good. From the soup to the wild boar it was all very tasty and with excelent quality /price ratio.

This is an enormous restaurant in the very centre of Brno. We did not like the atmosphere, because it's too big, we had a table on the first floor, it was very busy, and we felt a little bit like we were rushed. The food however was very good and tasty, as well as the beer. All in all the... More

We didn't like the ambiance so much, but it was good to have a Czech evening at least once:) food was ok, beer was nice. They smoke inside and it is noisy. More like a pub.

Good atmosphere & table arrangement is cozy. Traditional food serve here. I had a whole roasted goose leg served with purple cabbage and potato dumpling and a glass of 0.5l beer cost less than €9. Down stair is completely smoking area. Upstairs is non-smoking floor. Reservation is not required but advisable especially if you are with group of 4 or... More

The food was good, I ordered pork knuckle for only 279czk and schnitzel for only 179czk. The portion was huge, I think 2 main dish is enough for 4 person..In total we spent about 658czk or around €27.. I ended up taking 3/4 of the pork knuckle home as I wasn't able to finish it on my own.. However, their... More

I recently visited Brno and found this restaurant quite centrally located. It was completely packed during the night/evening, but I managed to found a spot, and as well as drinking a few beers, ate lunch here. I eat the flank steak which was very well prepared and with a very nice sauce. They also have a lot of traditional Czech... More

Stopkova is in a wood-panneled historic traditional building in central Brno. We are not beer lovers, but this place will please sudsmen as well. We enjoyed the Moravian Riesling and Merlot wines instead. Goose, game sausage, grilled chops, Stopkova has it all at a very affordable price.

The famous Stopek's Beer House has always been one of the pillars of Czech social and cultural life in Brno. There has been a pub here since the second half of the 19th century. It became famous with the arrival of the new owner, the genius Jaroslav Stopka, who took over the original Jonak's Beer House in 1910. Period advertisements always declared that the best Pilsner beer could be had at Stopka's. The pub retained its character and atmosphere even after its extensive modernisation. The author of the façade of the beer house is Czech painter and graphic artist Láďa Novák (1865 - 1944), a well-know Prague bohemian and also the author of the decorations on the U Fleků Pub in Prague, was also repaired and renovated. Pilsner Urquell and dark Velkopopovický Kozel, Fénix and Birell Light are all on tap. The head chef at Stopek's Beer House, Matěj Kovacs, recommends the excellent rosemary flavoured roasted lamb hock.
