Avoid this place. Very unprofessional staff. All the waitress does is laugh and joke with the waiter and not quietly either. The food was ok but when asking for the bill the waitress brought a calculator with a figure on the screen and explained that this was 2 total with 10% service charge added. We asked for the itemised paper... More

Last minute walk in as other "expensive" places all fully booked. Looked cheap n cheerful so we took a gamble. Ordered goulash bread bowl & chicken salad plus 2 drinks. Went on TripAdvisor whilst waiting for food, recent negative reviews gave us cause for concern. We waited and were not disappointed with our food, good hearty goulash, generous portion and... More

This is ideally situated just off one of the main squares in the New Town which is actually quite old. We popped in for morning drinks seated under the huge arches of the building above. The menu was very enterprising catering for all tastes. The plates passing our eyes were attractive. Our various drinks were very well served by a... More

I went last year with a group of friends and we had really good time good food good price! So i was so proud to bring a friend there this time. It wasn't the right choice! The waiters incredibly rude and unfriendly, they forget things that after we found in the bill, we had to ask many times for a... More

Could be a nice spot, taking into account their location and looks. However, this is quite deceiving. Staff is able to make the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable by their behavior, and even the sandwiches are low in quality (they seriously need to decrease the amount of butter used). Alas, but could be better.

This place gave me mixt feelings. When we arrived the waitress throw the menu to the table without greeting us. We ordered espresso and a spinach soup. The soup was delicious but I won`t go back for another espresso. Furthermore the coffee spoon was not well washed. The waitress smiled when we let tips and said good bye very nicely.... More

Four of us dropped in here for a drink and a bite to eat on our way back down from the castle. As it was a sunny day we opted to sit outside. Waiter was very pleasant and helpful and we enjoyed the beer, wine and food. Prices were reasonable too. The interior downstairs is also worth a visit.

1. Our waiter was ok and food was great. 2. Noticed that most waiters here are RUDE and they expect tips. 3. Noticed how they treat tourists 4. They make a living out of tourists but they treat them bad. 5. Popular spot but management should take a look into their staff because while your food is good your staff... More

Our first night in Prague and needed somewhere close to the hotel. We had a mixed grill to share for two. The meat was good although slightly undercooked for well done. The dark beer was very good as was a shared stroodle. They do add a 10% services charge that one customer was going on about a bit too much,... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
