One has to understand that this centuries old pub is sought out by tourists and is packed at any time of the year. It is large enough to accommodate most, but expect a very busy and lively place. The beer they serve is fantastic. I love the garden seating in the summer at the long tables and the entertainment -... More

We entered this place full of expectation and were hoping to soak up some culture....wow were we wrong!!! An expensive "complementary" drink was forced upon us, a rude man dressed like a yob seated us, 2 beers were sent to the table, we only wanted one, the food was finally ordered and taken by a savage who refused to look... Pretty smart place..the one that likes to take advantage of tourists who want to experience new things.. They "offer" you aperitivo shots (like a welcome drink) but than they charge you 80cz for each (which is more than the beer, that is already more expensive than the average restaurants in prague) And when I said I would like to pay... It won't become your favorite haunt but you cannot go to Prague and skip this kind of eatery. You have to experience it once, it is mainly beer and typical local food. Old and dark brown decor. Wood benches and narrow wood tables. Forget the roasted chicken and the roasted sausage and just order the pork knuckle, it is excellent.... More

We were told this is the oldest restaurant in Prague. The atmosphere is definitely from another time. The food is about the same as other restaurants in the area. As with tradition in Prague, don't expect a high level of customer service, the staff could care less if you are satisfied with their performance. Now, as far as the drinks....... More

They have a very good beer, but is quite expensive-about 1 1/2 the price for a regular beer in Prague. They offer you an Becherovna from the house, but you will pay it. The food is OK, but a little expensive.

You need to walk into this place with an open mind. Just sit down and enjoy the "original" Czech atmosphere. Hold your hand up for a lovely dark beer and don't forget that they do other drinks. Don't expect a waiter to be your best friend, Just use them to get a drink and some food. It's an experience but... More

Thats all I can say - if u've visited Prague and wasn't in u fleku u just have to come again. The best beer I've ever drink and u can't try it somewhere else. Food is also very good. Very nice atmosphere, live music by man with accordion. I miss this place every Friday when I walk to typical bar... More

This place might have some history to it but the service here is terrible and the food and drinks are overpriced. They push Becherovka on you in an unfriendly way and give you the impression that all they care about is your money.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
