We tried this place as we were stopping over the road. It's a big place and nicely done out. My only criticism was the long wait for our mains then when they came there was no cutlery. No major hassle as it was busy and we were in no rush as the Czech beer was flowing, and the cutlery quickly... More

2 min walking from Namesti Republiki Station. Peculiar front with an old style decoration. Very good amount of food for the price with excellent quality. Friendly staff.

Friendly atmosphere, great selection of beer (but why try anything else than the excellent pilsner on tap?!), and good bar type food. Not fine dining, but very nice bar experience.

We were lucky enough to eat there while they had live jazz music. The food and beer was autentic and good and the prices were fair. Nice evening

I had lunch and everything was alright. The duck was really good, I recommend it. The restaurant was big and the waiters well prepared.

I visited this restaurant on my first night in Prague. A very friendly and busy restaurant. We were seated quickly by our waiter and ordered from the non complicated menu. We had schnitzel, ribs and chicken supreme. Food arrived swiftly and each meal was really good and presented well. Great value for money. We dined on a Sunday so missed... More

Directly across from Hotel Century in Old Town, decided to give it a try. Was not disappointed. Very attentive and friendly staff and a good old fashioned atmosphere with an impressive bar. Good location.

La Republica serves fresh dark Kozel beer and simple - yet tasty - traditional Czech food. On Wednesday evening we enjoyed live music and a great atmosphere. Though full of tourists, some locals come there too. Definitely not a "tourist trap".

We walked by this place on a Friday night and tried to get a table - no luck. We booked a reservation for Saturday and returned the following evening. I'm glad we did. The atmosphere here is rather informal, kind of pub-like. It has 50 international bottled beers, which is one attraction, though I'd stick to the Pilsner Urquell myself... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
