Small hidden place, that will serve you great wine with great service. Also a little plate with cheese and some meat will make you happy.

This was a real find. A cognac and wine bar tucked away in a cellar. We walked past the door several times before realising it was there. Nice plates of cheese as well as more substantial fare. And they have an excellent wine tasting deal - just 25 crowns per taste - six wines in a 'sampler' style machine that... More

Authentic wine and spirits cellar. Huge range of cognacs, wine is always on rotation, but it's never a miss! With its intimate atmosphere and knowledgeable staff, this place is truly a treasure of Mala strana.

Excellent spot - especially considering the location. Catacomb type bar serving wine and cognac. Great atmosphere and nice drinks. Recommended.

I've been there just once, for a X-mass party of our company, the main part of the event was tasting of French wines - I was amazed by the knowledge of the sommelier, wines were just perfect, the staff nice and friendly. What more, the ambience of this wine bar situated in a cellar od medieval house is awesome.

We found this place on our last night and I wish we'd found it earlier. Its a wine bar serving a hand picked selection of wines as well we a number of cognacs and armagnacs and a small selection of snack dishes. If this had been in the UK we would have spent a fortune, and you could spend a... More

This is a local restaurant, for locals. Do not expect the staff to speak English, although some do. Food is delicious! Small portions, but filling. Not expensive at all. lunch for two including dessert and beer costs 13$. I would recommend the beef goulash with dumplings, and get the local beer. For dessert, get the dumplings with strawberries. that was... More

This little gem is a cellar which is reached through a set of steep stairs. Small alcoves surround the central bar area, which makes for an intimate experience and the servers are very friendly. We stopped in on a quiet night and enjoyed a few cocktails as well as the Armagnac tasting. A highlight of our trip!

This was our second visit, our first being exactly two years ago, and it was just a good as we remembered. We tried all of the tasting flights between us and I had the cognac flight. This culminates in one from 1957! If you enjoy tasting fine cognac, armagnac and/or pinneau then this is a must visit establishment. Great value... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
