Amazing place with lovely and fast service. :) We were looking for nice place with romantic mood when we saw this restaurant. We got a table with amazing view on the old wheel and water. Atmosphere was relaxing and food was great. We ordered camembert salad as a starter and we shared old prague platter and pork knee, it was... More

The location is great, just next to the John Lennon wall. The place looks great from the outside, especially with all of the pumpkins around during fall. In my opinion, the food was overpriced. The soup in a bread bowl was not completely filled and the goulash was good, but came in a very small quantity. Also, the service was... More

This looks like it should be a great little restaurant - it looks cosy and traditional and is in a lovely setting on Kampa, overlooking the big water wheel you can see when you cross the Charles Bridge. Unfortunately, the food and service doesn't live up to the look and feel of the place. The staff are disinterested (we sat... More

Quirky, quiet little place, bit like a quaint old English tearoom. Try and get one of the tables that overhangs the stream for something a bit different. Courtyard was full of gorgeous flowers and pretty china. The restaurant overlooks a wooden watermill and is en route to Lennon's Wall and 5 minutes from Charles Bridge. The setting was so pretty,... Four of us visited here on a cold and rainy autumn day and what a find! Thoroughly enjoyed our time here, friendly staff who are very accomodating, comfortable, wooly chairs, heaters for each of the tables and lovely home made punch!! If you are visiting Lennons Wall then you may as well pop in for a quick one!

We stopped here for quick lunch and a warm drink. Got all that and more. Hot pear juice and mulled hot wine served in cute pink China cups. Good lentil soup, goulash and fried cheese. Highly recommended

Stumbled across this restaurant whilst exploring Kampa Island and the Mala Strana quarter. It's surprisingly quiet considering it's only a hundred meters or so from the Charles Bridge. It is a very attractive setting, completely enclosed from the street yet next to the canal and moving water wheel. Beautifully decorated in an Autumn theme when we were there, we went... More

We finish our Prague tour in this cozy restaurant. The picture is fantastic, an old mill is near our table...and trees are arround us. Is not a cheep lunch but is good. We take a pork in czeh style and was very good! A glas of red wine and everything will be perfect. Nice staff and very pleasent. Must try... More

We walked in, it looked good, I actually remember a place on the site 20 years ago that was great. So we sat, after 5 minutes we had menus shoved at us. After 5 more and wanting a drink I asked a waiter, he said one moment, 5 minutes later, I asked again this time in Czech, if they wanted... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
