We visited as a group of three!! Lots of food on offer from breakfasts to salad, sandwiches and jacket potatoes. This is clearly a popular place with the locals and as strangers we felt service was a little slow. This cafe is housed in a old stable block / tack room and in our experience was cold, we didn't hang... More

A friend had recommended this place, and it was the ideal stop whilst we were on a bike ride in the area. The tea rooms was popular, and even though they were very busy, we were served with a smile. The food is reasonably priced, and the cakes though I didn't have one looked very tempting.

We followed the signs from the A17 (near the top of the steep hill) and discovered the tea room in a lovely old stone barn. We sat outside in the last of the summer sun and had an excellent sandwich which made the couple of miles detour worth the effort. Things to note - it's counter service (as it says... More

What a lovely place stop and enjoy a coffee and cake .the tack room is a beautiful little cafe with an extensive menu I would really recommended this lovely place the only criticism. I have is the lack of parking wich I feel could be improved on but it was a true find xxx

Went here with a wok colleague and was extremely impressed by the vintage look of the place. We ate lunch in the form of gigantic pork sandwiches and tea. The cakes looked fabulous but I resisted. Unfortunately I told my wife about the place so I might be forced to return and over indulge!

Found this place by accident yesterday and it is now on my "go back to" list. Atmospheric 1940's style with period music playing. Excellent home cooked food and lovely coffee. Such a treat given the poor fare along the A17.

We were looking for somewhere to stop on way back from Norfolk and saw a small sign for the tea room on the main road. As we had 2 hungry children with us I decided to follow the sign and I'm very glad I did. The tea room was a great find with plenty to offer for children, vegetarians and... More

We tend to visit the The Tack Room whenever the wife drags me to Downtown. Good local produce cooked with care means that whatever food you choose you won't get a bad meal (and we've tried pretty much everything from the breakfasts to the cakes and everything inbetween). Of particular note (from a personal point of view) are the lovely... More

This tea room is in a lovely setting - in the old stables of a Manor House. It is surrounded by little craft shops which stock interesting, and mainly locally made items. The cakes all looked very fresh and my friend was very impressed by the hot chocolate options! A very pleasant way to spend an hour or two.
