We ate at 6 pm before it got very busy. Always such good service and food. The pigeon and skater toast starters were really good. The pigeon was perfectly cooked. We both had the special of belly pork, bubble and squeak potato mash and black pudding. It was extremely tasty, well cooked and made extra good with delicious gravy. We... More

After booking in at the Chevington end guest house a trip to the pub for a meal was called for at the Chevin Inn.Staff were friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Both starter and main courses arrived quickly (not at the same time) both were tasty and well presented. Unfortunately as often happens we couldn't find any room for 🍰... More

Enjoyed a quiet drink in here on Friday night. Lovely surroundings and I imagine it's great to sit out on an evening in Summer. Slightly pricier than most other places in the area, but worth it for a great g&t!

My son and his partner were going to the Chevin for lunch and taking their baby son. I decided to muscle in and take a friend who was keen to meet the new addition. We didn't make a booking for a Thursday at 1pm - which was silly as it was packed!!! However the very helpful staff said a booking... More

We had never heard of this place but it was a convenient spot to meet up halfway with relatives from the North East and found it by an internet search. We reserved the table with panoramic views the day before our planned meet-up. I expected it to be impressive, (from the website) but it exceeded my expectations. Stunning location with... More

Booked a table online for 8 people. Received a phone call to confirm. Arrived early to find the table ready for us. Our group ranged in age and all managed to find a choice to eat from the menu. Food took a while to arrive after ordering, however I understand the challenge of trying to prepare meals for eight people... More

We rang at the last minute and as usual, the staff squeezed us in. The place was empty as we arrived as it was just midday! By the time we left it was packed. As always the food was excellent. Great chef I think. Lovely roast beef, chicken and vegetables. Good gravy! The chocolate roulade was really good. Service excellent,... More
