Looking through restaurant reviews and was convinced I should give it a try. What a fantastic place to dine, this small Malaysian eatery really lived up to the information I had come across, the staff service was excellent the food phenomenal and the price was value for money. I just had to let everyone know but sorry forgot the pics

Our first venture out to a restaurant post second lockdown. Only booking we could get and what a gem of a place. Food was really really tasty and very reasonably priced. We were very surprised! Service was good and food came quickly. Really enjoyed the evening out.

We have been going to this restaurant for many years for all sorts of Celebrations and it never disappoints.
It is a casual restaurant, we prefer the banquette seating at the back of the restaurant, it is well decorated and a lovely space to be in.
Junior Tan is a Family restaurant with two brothers one front of house and one principal chef, we are always made very welcome, even though it had been a while since we had visited due to lockdown
The serving staff are delightful and very helpful
We will be back soon

Awesome food - the quality and portion size are fantastic. The murtabak with curry dipping sauce is so delicious I can easily eat 2 portions.

Happened on this restaurant through a friend's recommendation and we were not disappointed. Our Wed night dinner was superb and although the restaurant was full, the friendly service was excellent.
We sat in the 4 stool berths which have shutters on one end, through which the server will take orders and serve the food...what a great and novel idea.
We dined on egg plant chips and veg spring rolls for starters. Our 3 x mains were Laksa Curry, Mongolian Beef and the Gabu Gabu, together with coconut rice. This was more than enough for the 4 of us, however we finished off by sharing 2 x green coconut crepes. All plates were delicious, particularly the Laksa! Two minor points could be that the coconut rice was a little "dry" and some people may find the restaurant a little noisy.
I complement again the friendly and prompt service we received...the whole dining experience was fabulous.

Was invited here by a friend & we loved it! The place is very quirky and the decor trendy & well thought out. The service was top notch & the food was absolutely delicious & served piping hot. I had veg spring rolls followed by Singapore noodles which were very tasty. We will be returning!

Lovely family evening but a few misunderstandings! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary with our son and he was driving so ordered a non alcoholic cocktail except that it wasn’t non alcoholic! Being on his P plates he has to have a zero BAC so this was problematic! Our entrees were terrific except that they didn’t have the pork dumplings available (our faves!) the mains arrived but hubby’s coconut rice came out as jasmine rice (not a big deal but it’s the little things and we’ve been coming here for years!) Still, a great night.

Tonight was my third visit in the past couple of months and I'm happy to share the food continues to be delicious. Tonight between three of us, we shared a Black Pepper Beef, Roti with Curry Sauce, Kataifi Prawns, squid skewers and we topped off our tasty dinner with a serve of sweet Pandan crepes with coconut filling. Our entire meal was freshly cooked, came to the table hot, was well presented and most importantly was delicious. We were served promptly and our food arrived in a timely manner. Added to this, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and obliging. Junior Tan is a true local treasure and we look forward to returning again soon.

Surprised to find such a wonderful chic restaurant in my old burb haunt circa 1990’s.
Terrific decor appeals on entering, great value menu and friendly prompt service.
Beef Rendang, CKT, Nasi Goreng & Roti all deliciously enjoyed.
Will definitely return with more family members. Recommend.

If you want good quality and consistency with a good variety of dishes, this is the place to go. Staff are great and the atmosphere is comfortable. Have been going here for many years and never disappointed, well done Donny, Alloy and Staff

Second visit to the new Junior Tan venue and does not disappoint!!!
Love the new high tables with the Rafflesk shutters
Great menu still with a few great new additions
Still has that great inner city , Fitzroy feel without the price tag!
Would definitely recommend to those who haven't yet tried it.

My usual Malaysian restaurant was closed so I decided to check out Junior Tan.
Place was packed but they found me a seat at the window.
Ambience is not bad, service was quick and I had my Curry Laksa within 5 minutes.
Tasted great!
Will be coming back to try more dishes!
First impressions are very good.

My wife and I had lunch here recently during our drive home from a holiday in Mount Dandenong.
We ordered Char Kuay Teow and Wat Tan Hor noodles. The food was good. Service was okay. Prices were reasonable.
We will return in future.

Went to Junior Tan tonight as we had not dined in since COVID hit.
Still a great place to eat.
Good food and good service, what else is there to say !
Very busy for a Thursday night, almost a full house which says a lot !
