We had the most wonderful lunch at Mazaj restaurant. The opening dishes were so special and delicious. The main courses were simply to die for - meat that melts in your mouth. And the special dessert was so yummy. Service was perfect, by the kindest...waiters, and even the chef that came by to check up on us. We highly recommend this restaurant, and will definitely return!More

We found this restaurant online and decided to go there for supper. It was a little hard to find--it's nestled behind a garage off the main road--but it was worth looking for! The drive from the kibbutz where we were staying was spectacular. We were...hoping for the animation of a crowed Israeli restaurant, but it was still Ramadan (this is an Arabic area) and also the night before a national holiday, There is no English menu--it is in Hebrew--but Naseef, our waiter, spoke excellent English. We asked him for his recommendations, and he hit the ball out of the park. We ordered the fatoush salad to start, then a hot plate combining long-grain rice with a savoury stew made of tomatoes, eggplant, and chickpeas. We followed this with lamb, roasted for seven hours, and served in a tajine with more rice. In both cases, the rice was seasoned and topped with roasted nuts. Everything was delicious. Naseef served us a local dessert with our Turkish coffee--a creamy semolina concoction topped with whipped cream and drizzled with a fruity sauce. Excellent. The ambiance at Mazaj is not memorable. The food is. We highly recommend dining there if you're in Rameh, and making the effort to find it if you're not!More

We were there for an early dinner. Full marks to the interior decorator who obviously aimed to give the clientele a quality experience. Jamal, charming and courteous, served us very well and advised us on the best food choices. We had hummus (I would have...liked it spicier, but not all around the table could sample spicy food), babaghanouj, spiced sausages (really tasty), a delightful parsley and tomatoe salad etc The star of the show however was the dessert, comprising of pistachio cake, followed by semolina cake. Both mouthwatering - to say the least! A portion can be shared by a couple. Certainly Mazaj is a restaurant to include on your To-do list on a visit to Melbourne. A great dining experience!More

Amazing! We came during a quiet lull so had the place to ourselves. Our waiter, whose name I've sadly forgotten, was great, giving us tips and recommendations, making our meal luxurious, with every bite on point, plus a few extras. We were so happy and...satisfied, left a tip twice as large as we usually do. Will definitely come back next time we're in the area!More

An unprepossessing location. In fact, it’s to be found in what appears to be a warehouse in an industrial estate in the town of Rama. But don’t be put off by the spartan surroundings of the restaurant, it more than makes up for it with...the fabulous middle eastern dishes on offer. The emphasis is on utilising locally grown ingredients in season, served by very welcoming and friendly Druze staff. Though not exclusively non meat, the vegetarian and vegan options are superb. Just go with the mezze chosen by Fady the owner. Everything he bought us was a taste sensation, freshly prepared and thoroughly enjoyed. Very reasonably priced as well. You will get to eat some great food in Israel but none better than this.More
