Sunday night in Cuenca out of season and their is not a huge amount of choice for places to eat out. The area that we ended up in was recommended by the owner of the apartment that we rented but number 2 and number 5 on the TA ratings were shut. First pass of El Bodegon (rated at number 15... More

A hidden find! I had the lunch set that costs 10euros! Portions were huge and I was full by the second course. The staff here doesn't speak English so we had to ask for the wifi password to use Google translate to order. Bread & Tuna dish (not sure what this is, but it was given to us at the... More

El Bodegón is hidden away in a narrow side street, in the center of Cuenca. It is a rustic, "tavern" like establishment, with a long history. The midday lunch menu for 10,00 € is incredibly good value, and the quality/preparation/presentation of the food is excellent. Way above what you would expect for the price. The service is friendly and fast,... More

Our favourite restaurant in Cuenca, we visited twice on a four night trip. Cram packed with locals every night of the week, this hard to find gem is really worth a visit. If you want to get a table in the courtyard you might want to get here before nine and have drinks and tapas first. Outstanding entrees including squid,... More

Hard to find this spot but the food was worth the effort. Walking distance from Hotel, almost hidden from street. Had the pork tenderloin and grilled mushrooms on a plank. Super. Very fair prices.

We went here last night after asking our hotel receptionist to recommend a Spanish restaurant. It's down a back street and wouldn't have been that easy to find, but was completely full of Spanish families, with just one table left inside. The menu is all in Spanish and the staff don't speak English, so with our very limited Spanish we... More

It is worth to walk outside the old town of Cuenca to go this jewel of traditional Spanish food and excellent barbacue meals! The atmosphere is lively, with the bar and the tables in the same room (don't expect an intime and private atmosphere here). We had barbacued pork sirloin and barbacued vegetables and everything was delicious. We also had... More
