Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A straight forward order of extra hot cappuccino & sides for two - Coffee arrived first & cool, toast arrived 10 minutes later and croissant didn’t arrive at all! Very Slow service, unapologetic rude staff won’t bother coming back there again

Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious. Lovely friendly service. Fantastic view and enjoyed watching the Riverboat Postman boats heading out. Zero complaints from me. Look forward to visiting again.

Two meals were forgotten, they only came out after asking three times. We didn’t even get an apology. Staff were rude

As we live on the Central Coast this venue is very handy by train and the trip by the water is spectacular. The food is very good and reasonably priced, HOWEVER the owners and staff seem to be totally unaware of the laws regarding dogs...in restaurants. Under the Australian and New Zealand Food Standards dogs are not allowed in enclosed eating areas. This cafe is NOT an outdoor area and when we were there another group had two dogs sitting at table top level. Totally against the law and YUK YUK YUK.More

Yes we were moves tables after settling in with our two puppies. However after that there were VJ many upsides 1 - we were able to take our two Cavoodles out to lunch 2- staff bought the pups out a tasty beef patty & 3...- the absolute best oysters I had in my life to date!More

The fish was fabulous: hot; grilled looked appetising, battered was delightful. Salad was SO FRESH, it was a delight with refreshing herbs. Sauce which accompanied the fish was appealing, and that on the salad was pleasant too. 😋 However, to ba asked to move tables,...mid eating was a disgrace. We had been directed to sit at that table which was never cleaned from previous occupants. Water was NEVER brought to the table. Some staff were 😑 sadly. At least one server from the kitchen thanked us as we left. Admittedly the BEST SEAFOOD meal we have had out for some time. Disappointing 😞 staff.More

Pretty view over the water. Fish tacos were very tasty, liked the addition of pineapple, and pumpkin salad was nice. Nine spice chai was very flavourful and flat whites were well executed. Overall a pleasant experience.

It's disappointing when you see the restaurant has a fantastic view and good location, but it's all ruined by low-quality food, disaster presentation, and then inexperienced staff and unacceptable service; I wish I had had a chance to leave zero stars. Waiting for 30 minutes...for a waiter to clean and prepare the table to sit, then 50 minutes for lunch to come; the dish was presented like $10 fish and chips from the food court.More

It seems to have changed hands. Not well organised. Put us on a wrong table and when placing order asked for table number. No numbers on table. When served there was no care. Food just dumped down. Food was ordinary very much lower standard then...before. Will be taking a wide berth from this cafe now. Use to go there about once a month but not now.More

I was walking past with my friends who chose this place. It was very busy but staff found us a table which was nice. We were handed menus on sheets of paper, although these didn't seem to be available anywhere else or even at the...counter. I went for the oysters and some chips, my friends went for the calamari and chips, and the Dory burger. We each ordered coffees. I will say that my oysters were fresh and had a light salty refreshing taste, although oysters do have to be fresh so that's standard. They were also quite expensive at $29 a dozen. I was surprised they were advertised from South Australia when the local oyster catchment area is just up the road. I didn't ask why they weren't local. My friend said his Dory fish burger was soft and bland and too small for the price. I tried my other friend's calamari and chips, they were okay but nothing that can't be found in most fish and chip shops around the country. My friends' hot coffees looked decent, but I ordered a cold brew expecting it in a coffee cup and it came in a can with a glass of ice, not what I wanted at all. We had a nice view until staff pulled to block out the sun, but that's fine, we finished up and saw the view later. Staff were really busy but handled everything reasonably well, and the meals came out at a decent time, but it wasn't anything special. Although if you want quick and simple for $20 or under then go for it.More

Busy little place. We arrived after kitchen closed for lunch, however we were able to order some good prawns and coffee. Several days later we ordered a no frills breakfast (bacon and eggs) with coffee, quick service. Staff had a good attitude

I met my sister here for lunch today and whilst it’s a pleasant spot on the Hawkesbury River the food is totally underwhelming. My salad of rocket, feta, cucumber, onion and tomato ($16) was mostly rocket with small slivers of the other ingredients. I opted...to add grilled prawns for an additional $10 and received three modest sized prawns! My sister fared slightly better with her salad as she chose the additional teriyaki chicken for $6. The chips were nice and the service OK but I wouldn’t go back in a hurry.More

Staff were not very helpful. We asked a member of staff walking by for a menu and were told that she would have to make more copies. We then had to ask again when it became apparent that she had forgotten. We were encouraged to...look online at the menu which didn't suit some of us as elderly patrons. Once that was sorted, we went to the register to order and pay and were greeted by a grumpy older lady that must have been having a bad day. It took quite a while to receive our order and we did have to check on the remaining meal which was wrong once it arrived. Parking is a nightmare. The positive was the location, stunning views but I feel they rely on this to maintain customers.More

Same, here, not sure, but many people seem to enjoy wine with their lunch and nothing is said, so doesn't seem to be a problem.
