Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Busy friendly hotel. Prices ok given where they are and service was good. Pity about the bikies revving up their egos opposite.

Not enough options. Pizza pasta and burgers were not available until after 5. Seems like Dave’s menu needs an overhaul. That is all I have to say

Sizzling garlic prawns were the clear highlight of our meal. Juicy and fresh in a golden pool of plentiful garlic butter. Sadly, we were only given one small half slice of bread each, but were quickly given more upon request. Pizza was slightly over cooked,...schnitzel was very acceptable. Overall, pretty standard pub food but can recommend the yummy prawns.More

We went to have dinner at the Anglers Restaurant just prior to Christmas. What a beautiful spot to sit out in the open with the umbrellas and fairy lights. We ordered our meals and they were amazing. Narelle and her team were all delightful and...very helpful and friendly. We will be sure to return againMore

Pleasant little pub bistro in the middle of Brooklyn. Very popular wood fire pizzas which were flying out the door. Very tasty plus we had a serve of onion rings which were probably the best I've had in years. Very popular spot but had no...issue finding a table to sit at and the food was served very quickly despite them saying that there would be a delay on the pizza.More

Most dishes are good, but the garlic prawns was way overpriced. They charged $25 for 6 prawns and half a slice of toasted bread. I commented to the waiter where's the rest of the bread...their response was you can purchase another half slice for $1....What a missed opportunity for them to resolve their oversight/over charging. The prawns were tasty but at that price it's not 5 star dining at Sydney Harbour! On a positive note, the calamari and pan fried barramundi was delicious and fairly priced. We will continue to eat here but wary of their entree offerings.More

Was served by some lovely Asian ladies. Our seafood chowder at $30 had pieces of fish, prawns and calamari rings. It did not seem generous compared to the bowl it was served in. It came with a slice of sourdough garlic bread. The fish tacos...at $24 for 2 tacos was underwhelming. The taco itself was not warmed up and you could taste the slight coldness from the fridge. There were 2-3 finger sized battered fish pieces per taco with some slaw and watery sauce. The strawberry garnish on our apple pie was beautifully carved. The place is a short walk from the train station. It was very popular with families out for a Sunday lunch.More

The service was a little slow given it was early on a quiet weekday night, but the staff were friendly. Wine was served not by the glass but in individual small bottles - not sure about this from an eco point of view - seems...like an awful lot of extra lids and glass. We ordered pizzas - generous size, crispy base but almost identical toppings on the supreme and the meatlover's. It was good to sit outside on a warm autumn evening, but I can't help thinking that with no competition in town, the restaurant is relying on standard pub food and charging a little too much. It could deliver a whole lot more.More

After doing the Riverboat Postman cruise we had a few ales at the Anglers. Great spot, friendly atmosphere and the lunch menu looking amazing and well priced (we had already eaten). We will make a trip back to try the food.

Lunch on a Friday and ordered the Seafood Chowder @ $30 The derving was big on thickened stock but thin on seafood. To make it worse there was only one small piece of bread to accompany. When I asked for more I was informed that...I would be charged extra per piece. Feeling ripped off. Not good value for money on this dish. Be careful when ordering to know wht to expectMore

We spent a pleasant few hours here. The meals are a bit pricey, though delicious. My pasta was house made and light and tasty. My husband's slow cooked ribs were also a hit.
