Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

With an abundance of choices for seafood in Brooklyn we were attracted to this place by the menu board stating that 2 pieces of fish were served with each dish. A sunny Sunday afternoon meant that most tables were full so we grabbed the last...one. The pricing is what I consider high; 2 flathead and chip and 2 can of softdrink came to over 3/4 of 100. The wait for the meal to be delivered was not long, but not quick. The fish was fresh, the portion of chips was better than expected, and they gave us a couple of lettuce leaves. What was a bit disappointing is that the flathead fillets are small, and what we received was one piece each, which if they were split would make 2 pieces. Marketing is an art form I guess. For the price paid I feel a little bit disappointed and if we go to Brooklyn again I'd probably look elsewhere. Without a water view there's no special attraction - if I had a view I'd overlook issues, but you are stuck between a carpark and a road and you could be anywhere.More

Been about 4 years since we were last here - thanks Covid! It is still as brilliant as ever with beautifully cooked fresh seafood, large servings, quick service, great staff, good prices and easily accessible from Hawkesbury River railway station literally next door, in a...lovely secluded riverside location. You can byo with a bottle shop next door. Our party had a mix of the blackboard menu offerings (order and pay at the counter, delivered to table) including various fish with chips/salads and the ‘special’ plate featuring bugs, prawns, oysters, smoked salmon, salad, dipping sauce etc and a bowl of nicely cooked chips. This was my choice and it was lovely, all our party were equally enthusiastic about their meals. We enjoyed a leisurely fun and food filled afternoon. Seriously, this is some of the best seafood you can get in a great setting and if you’re coming from Sydney, it’s a pleasant one hour train trip each way. Couldn’t be easier! They get busy, so best to book in advance. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks Lifeboat for a fantastic lunch. We will definitely be back more often.More

Excellent seafood meal. Great atmosphere. Live music. Nice place with plenty of shade. Friendly staff. Parking can be a challenge. Lots of parking spaces occupied for long durations. There is space for passenger drop off. Be prepared to park a fair distance away. Close to...the train station.More

Normally we only comment on very good or bad. The seafood meals that we had today were outstanding. Perhaps he best in some years. The building and dining area is secluded and quaint with no table service other than delivery of meals. What else is...there to say other than go and experience it yourselfMore

Stopped by after working in the area for the day. Fresh seafood cooked right there and a good different variety of options to choose from. It’s great to have ‘real’ fish n chips. Small little shop by the water and the food is delicious.

Perfectly cooked seafood; competent and efficient staff. The 3 of us really enjoyed our meal - between us we had dory, jewfish and flathead and a dozen oysters. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, this restaurant is ONLY seafood and they do it very well....We went on a Saturday night (open till 7pm). They was a brazier and live music - soft, in background - we could still easily enjoy our conversation. Not flash surrounds, just clean and simple, the way seafood is enjoyed best. Locals knew it was BYO, next time, we will too :-)More

Lovely fresh fish and chips. Nice light batter on the fish. Clean little shop with friendly service. The $22 fish and chips is perfect for two adults to share for lunch.

Booked for lunch and enjoyed good fish, chips and salad - and ever so friendly service. This is a SEAFOOD shop, you can't buy steak, booze or coffee - but the staff will happily direct you to the next-door bottle shop or nearby cafe to...get your beverages to bring back to their tables if the line up of standard soft-drinks doesn't fit your taste. We even got live music - very unobtrusive and gentle - and songs I've never heard before. Not sure if this is a regular Saturday event, but suspect it is.More

We were tired and indecisive, however they were very patient. We ordered takeaway, the fish was covered in a thin Chris’s bater, the oysters and prawns were fresh.

Ate lunch here on spec on a wet and windy day. Outside dining was an experience but remained dry. Staff were excellent and the food was great! Fresh cooked to perfection and a great dressing on the salad. Will definitely return here.

This unpretentious little cafe served us the most delicious meal. The secret is that they have a limited menu serving the fresh catch available and team the fish/other seafood with simple but delicious salads and golden crunchy chips. The service was also prompt and friendly....We were there on a Saturday at lunch time when they have live music to add to the laid back ambience as well.More

If you like fresh seafood or superbly cooked seafood then this is the place to go. An open cafe in rustic settings providing an excellent atmosphere for small groups or individuals. The staff are always most pleasant and eager to accommodate all requests. The Chefs...are superb examples of their profession and all seafoods both fresh and cooked are of excellent quality.
