Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been walking by since we moved to Mandurah saying we must go and try it. Walking in it’s very unappealing, nothing compared to Sharkys over the other side. It’s pretty much so it’s yourself and find a place to sit. Nothing is explained...so when our buzzer went off and our fish n chips were wrapped in the paper everyone leans on at the counter, we asked for a plate and were told that this meal is served wrapped in paper however they did plate it for us. The fish (hook) was tasteless and dry and the batter was thick and not nice at all. Minimum effort there, won’t be going back sadly. Great spot!More

We'd been to the Fremantle outlet several times before so thought to try out the Mandurah outlet on the way to Dunsborough. Compared to the energy, crowd and activity at Fremantle, the Mandurah outlet felt quieter and sleepier. There is no outdoor seating although the...resto is perched along the waterfront so the darkwood interior is your only seating option. Food wise, we ordered the Barramundi and chips and salt and pepper squid to share. The fish was fresh, light and flaky and the batter was not overwhelming, good quality seafood, well prepared like we've come to expect. The dipping sauce was a great complement, not overly heavy like some tartare sauces. After enjoying a quiet, serene meal, we headed out for a walk along the waterfront and tried some ice cream and churros at the shops nearby. A pleasant stop if you're heading southwest.More

Ordered premium whiting. Ended up with 3 average grey flesh fillets, heavily crumbed. When questioned it was insisted that the fish was whiting. Definitely not Australian whiting if at all. Definitely not a premium fish

Ordered the Chilli crab and was hugely disappointed with the lack of crab. It was all shell and no meat. We asked for a crap fork (hook like utensil) and they said they don't have one. Loads of sauce to cover up the lack of...crab. I would say likely very undersized and not worth the purchase. Will be reluctant to recommend this at all. Do not order!!!More

Omg what a terrible disappointment I had fresh seafood prawns crayfish etc my head What a shock to order 1/2 cray which was small but ok but the chips were tough and flavourless A small piece of lightly battered fish was ‘ok’ But my husband...ordered a lightly battered whiting Not so light batter Very heavy batter unwieldy, over cooked fish awful chips very basic salad Awful I seem to remember from years ago that this restaurant is not what you should expect from seafood people!, A manager walked by us as we left as said ‘ everything ok’ He was a bit shocked we said no and explained why not Note to myself We ll never go back to Cicerellos again waste of money which is a real shame In Freo it was a namesake an icon of fresh seafood in the dayMore

Although the setup is reminiscent of a Coles cafeteria the food is brilliant. Seafood chowder thick and very tasty, also the care the kitchen hand took stiring it every 50 / 60 second between other tasks GREAT Cray fresh and tasty. The fish nothing short...of brilliant. If you want the best seafood / fish. GO..More

Well Cicerellos has really gone down hill. We won’t be going back. Fish was dry, batter was not cooked properly it was wet and doughy. Really not sure how you get this combo unless the fish was twice cooked then battered. Very greasy chip could...not eat this meal it was really bad. Very disappointed will try halls Head fish and chips in future.More

The most disappointing fish & chips. The batter was thick and oily around a thin piece of fish. The chips were tasteless and even the vinegar was tasteless. Some meals came in a cardboard box, others on a plate? The windows were dirty, which is...a shame as the view is lovely and it was a beautiful day, shame about the food and atmosphere.More

Haven't been to Cicerello's Mandurah Restaurant for a number of years but with the closure of our normal oyster haunt, we decided to give it a go. Glad we did. Ordered a dozen Natural Oysters to share and a bowl of Chilli Mussels each. Have...seen in reviews that someone complained about the oysters not being fresh but these were. Perhaps as it was Melbourne Cup Night and the stock had been refreshed, we certainly thought ours were excellent. Could have a greater selection of sauces other than just lemon wedge but sufficed. Chilli Mussels were great although sauce perhaps just a tad 'sweet' and could have had a slighter hotter kick but as it is a Family seafood restaurant, I understand why it was what it was. Beer for me and wine for my Sister completed the meal. Pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed it and almost went back again a couple of nights later. Will try again when holidaying next year in Mandurah.More

My daughter and I arrived and there was a shoeless dirty body lying at the front door that customers had to walk around. With trepidation, I approached the counter of Cicerellos and informed them there was what appeared to be an unconscious body at the...front door and maybe an ambulance or police should be called (photos available). After several attempts at getting the young person to acknowledge what I was saying she said she would tell the manger. We ordered fish and chips and some calamari for 3 people to take away. In summary it was the worst example of fish and chips I have ever experienced (I am 62). Expensive and below any standard i have previously experienced. It arrived unsalted even though we had requested chicken salt. I took a photo of salads that were preparing with flies crawling over them. I will never return to this establishment for anything to eat.More

Some of these reviews are confusing. If you want fine dining, dont visit here. If you want traditional fish and chips in a lovely setting, give Cicerello's a visit. Staff were friendly, food was good and sitting on the balcony was lovely. Yes, there is...a problem with gulls and the like but you'd get that sitting on the beach.More

I would phone them direct but like Julie H replied she had grilled fish & salad and she was fine. I think the chowder has gluten in it.
