Food was OK but some dishes were small and expensive so not a cheap meal, we also all felt there was limited choice. We were really disappointed with the service, food came out in good time but after the tables were cleared we weren’t offered and desserts or coffee or asked if we’d have like more drinks. Place wasn’t that busy and there was plenty of staff around. We were all disappointed and probably won’t be going back any time soon, such a shame as the location is great.

The stage door has a nice setting, and my husband enjoyed his meal. I asked for a caesar salad . I was served a bowl of lettuce, chicken on top and dressing. No Parmesan cheese, no crusty bread cubes, no bacon . When the waitress Asked how the meal was, I asked her where the other ingredients were she went to ask the chef but never returned with an explanation, still charged the full price, and never offered another meal. Won’t eat there again.

We were glad, and they were too. Only two tables to serve so staff were right on top. A pleasant view over the water to the changing lights if the estuary bridge. We shared an oregano mini loaf to start, instead of the set menu entrees. The set menu was 2 or 3 course, each course had four items. The veg were cooked to perfection. The fish was pretty good, but the chimichuri chicken better. The deserts were large and splendid.

Booked a table for my daughters birthday and sat outside on sunny day. From start we were treated differently from diners sitting inside, when I commented on this, was told we had to pay in advance as we might abscond without paying- really! They had my name and number and a birthday cake I provided. With 3 waitresses and only 6 tables of guests they could not manage to serve one table (us) outside, we eventually moved inside. I was insulted to have them imply I would run off without paying- Shame as Mandurah has a strong culture of dining on the boardwalks - seems this restaurant thinks these diners are risks to their business. Definitely not going back there to be insulted again

We made a phone booking with 90 minutes time to have a relaxing meal and a couple of drinks before taking in a show next door at The Mandurah Performing Arts Centre. We arrived 15 minutes early ordered a round of drinks that took nearly 15 minutes to be bought to our table. While we were waiting we ordered our meals.(6pm) 15 minutes later we ordered another round of drinks which took another 15 minutes. Our show was starting at 7:30 . At 6:45 we asked when we would be served our meal. Our meals were served at 6:55. Pork chop and a spoon full of rabbit food for $35. Won’t be going there again. Poor service and overpriced.

This is definitely a restaurant I would not recommend to people who like good food. The star of the show would be the panko prawns. Big juicy and tender.well cooked. And thats were it stops. I ordered the crispy skinned salmon and my wife ordered the beef fillet steak. I’ve cooked a lot of salmon myself and it’s not hard to make sure that the fish is well seasoned and comes to the table still pink, cooked and with a crispy skin. I new that this was going to go south when the water asked me how I wanted the salmon cooked. I looked at him and asked him what he meant because this was a first for me to have someone ask how I wanted it cooked. It came to the table on top of coleslaw that absolutely had no flavour or seasoning and the salmon it’s self was grey. No crispy skin and the smell of the salmon was something I’ve never experienced in my life after eating at different decent restaurants all over this country. 38 dollars for that. Not even any chips.my wife’s fillet steak was not seasoned at all. The potato bake that accompanied it was still raw,not cooked.no cheese. No crispy top and I could keep going but there’s no point. The female manager tried to tell me that the salmon was not off. Very defensive and didn’t even offer to replace the meal. Came up with the excuse that I had nearly eaten it all which was so far from the truth. Tried to offer us a free drink which I declined.so 160.00 dollars later for food that could be cooked better by a home chef this is a place that I would not recommend to any one. At the end of the day go and get a burger from McDonald’s at least you’re not paying a fortune for badly cooked food.

Not sure what is going on here, we have been here before and it was excellent, this visit however..... Firstly our online booking that we made a week before was not registered, it wasn't a problem because there were tables available, we did however wait a long time to order and waited even longer before a huge mixup occurred, they brought out our main course instead of our starter. The main courses were returned to the kitchen (I assume to sit baking under a heat lamp for 20 minutes) and the starter came out. After finishing our starter which was nice hence 1 of the stars I have awarded. The mains were returned to us 1 very dry rack of lamb and 1 fillet steak that had reduced to a dry burger, 2 very expensive mistakes. I thought of walking out but it was a birthday meal and did not want to ruin the evening. I did however mention to the manager the mix up and the state of the meals, he gave us a refund on the starter which quite ironically was the only edible thing on the night. The other star I have awarded was for the quite exceptional expresso Martini we had afterwards.

Ordered drinks at bar and was pleased with the friendliness and efficiency of young blond barman. Sat outside where there was a piece of broken glass at my feet. Went inside to order anti pasta platter after consulting menu outside at door. I was charged $5 more than price on menu I did query this and was told there had been a price increase. I paid the extra and the platter served on slate was a generous portion well presented and much enjoyed. However I do feel that menu at door must be updated as this is very wrong ! Although I was pleased with barman and food. I am annoyed at being overcharged. Surely this isn’t the right way to encourage customers to return .

We didn’t actually go to a show, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves while the show was happening. Pretty good food and one waitress with a sense of humor. We’re always amazed that wait staff doesn’t really want to know anything about where you’re from unless you happen to strike up conversation yourself. Really appreciating Flicks for their awesome staff...would enjoy a drink with any of their people!

We liked the menu and the dishes lived up to the billing. Set menu pasta dish was tasty and so was the cheesecake. The cheese plate is not on the fixed price menu but was very good. Wine menu features Australian wines. Great view of the waterfront.

Shocking service-waited over an hour for food-cannot recommend and won’t be going again. Very disappointing and embarrassing experience with a visitor from Perth. Other diners experienced similar problems and said that was not their first bad time.

My husband and I dined at The Stage Door in Mandurah on the weekend. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised as it has been a while since we were there last and it has improved immensely. The menu, staff and quality of food was fantastic. Such a friendly and efficient team. We were attending a show at the Performing Arts centre next door and they asked us if we were attending a show so that our meal was sent out quickly, albeit without feeling rushed at all. The staff were very busy; however, the service was spot on. We were really impressed and will definitely be visiting again.

I was a little nervous of booking as some reviews had been less than complimentary but we had a great meal. The staff were all quite young but very welcoming and attentive. The restaurant was quiet as it AFL finals but we could not fault the lemon peppered squid that we shared as a starter or the Portuguese chicken salad that we had as a main - it was real mix of ingredients and tasted amazing. We couldn't fault the restaurant at all and having been next door to The Pen several times, we much preferred the food at the Stagedoor. We will eat there again :-)

Family get together over the holiday season. I had a really nice salad with Matso beer which was all very good, and the rest of the fanily enjoyed different dishes. The staff were very friendly and helpful in a good quality restaurant. The only issue was the very string seabreeze otherwise this is a very good restaurant to visit for a meal.

Finding a dinner venue for 19, ideally with a separate area for presentations etc and catering for a variety of dietary requirements is a challenge. However Stagedoor managed magnificently. All 4 staff I dealt with were very friendly and efficient. When we arrived we received laminated numbers that were to be used when ordering and then on paying the bills. Genius. Everyone was very impressed and it worked without a hitch. We had full use of the Bayview room which has a lovely view of the water and was heated for a slightly chilly night. The menu is extensive and provided lots of variety for fussy eaters. There was a slight delay in meals arriving, but we were all served within a few minutes of each other which was amazing ; delivery seemed to indicate that seating had been noted. Everyone enjoyed their meals, with rave reviews of the laksa and salmon. Very fresh Asian salad with the salmon had a well balanced dressing. Deserts OK, coffee pronounced good. Can’t recommend highly enough
