Party of 6 for a 21st family dinner. We'd never heard of Juniper & Bay before and found it browsing trip advisor. The restaurant is small and intimate with subdued lighting and modern decor. We arrived 10 mins early and our table wasn't quite ready - we enjoyed a drink at the bar and the table was vacant only 10 mins after our booking time. There was a large party of about 12 or more which was a little noisier than it would perhaps generally be. Towards the end of the meal the service became a little slower but these in no way detracted from a great evening. We each found that there were lots of things we would have liked to have ordered in the mains and entree's and even before being served our first course, we were already planning a return visit if the food lived up to the ambiance and welcome we'd so far received. Wait staff were very pleasant, courteous and unobtrusive. For entree's our party had: Duck Pate (which was light and flavoursome), Crumbed prawns (which were still being talked about long after we got home), Goats cheese brulee (delicious), the Asian popcorn chicken and the beef cheek terrine. For mains, 3 of the party ordered the Kangaroo and all thought this an excellent dish, The barramundi was a little over cooked but still delicious and the chicken and Beef were also thoroughly enjoyed. The presentation of the food was beautiful and certainly adds to the fine dining experience. The crispy potatoes as a side were delicious and one side of the potatoes and Green beans were enough for the 6 of us. Desserts of Creme brulee, rum spiced pineapple (which got a rave review), a shared cheese plate, Affogato and Stracciatella with a very generous serving of Galliano topped off one of the best meals that we've had anywhere. We're already planning our 2nd visit not we've found this little gem.

When I think fine dining in Perth, I think of locations in and around the city. However, Juniper and Bay is a hidden gem, tucked away in the Preston St dining precinct in Como, that offers exceptional food and outstanding service. We came here for a family dinner for my brother's 21st birthday. Immediately, we were struck by how intimate it was inside. The restaurant has a limited number of tables and low lighting, making it seem like the perfect spot for a special date night. Our table wasn't quite ready, but the lady who greeted us at the door told us to come in out of the cold and that we could order a drink at the bar while we waited. Our table was ready within 10 mins. The menu had plenty of choice - there were many dishes that I could've ordered, and I was already planning what I might have on a return visit! In the end, crumbed prawns, barramundi and creme brulee won out. All were delicious, despite the barramundi being slightly overdone for me. The birthday boy also enjoyed his meal very much, especially the prawns. The wait staff were excellent - friendly and accommodating whilst maintaining a sense of professionalism that you expect from fine dining. My partner and I have already decided that this would be a great spot to come to for a special occasion in the future. I would heartily recommend Juniper and Bay to anyone!

As a regular tourist to Perth and always looking for a new restaurant, this was a great find and an excellent dining experience. This was one of the top dining experiences we have had in Perth in all our years of travelling to Perth. Our style of dining was catered for, with appropriate breaks between courses and the wine and water was topped up very regularly showing an attentive service for the diners as we chatted the evening away. The food was excellent and the wine selection brilliant.

There are mixed reviews of this restaurant but our experience at Juniper & Bay was excellent. The staff were very polite and attentive, recommended certain dishes when asked and kept our glasses full. Can’t ask for much more than that. The food was absolutely delicious. MrsV had the degustation menu and struggled to finish dessert. I had a la carte with lamb as the main which was cooked to perfection. The only down side is that you may need to book well in advance especially for a Fri or Sat evening but if you’re able to go during the week their set price 2 or 3 course meals are a good option. I highly recommend Juniper & Bay and will be back for sure.

A party of 4, all with July birthdays, celebrated one significant “zero” birthday on Thursday evening. The restaurant was at capacity - an indication of the appreciation of fine dining, at a fair price, in the suburbs. The warm, friendly atmosphere, attentive, polite staff complemented the superb food. An excellent evening thoroughly enjoyed by our family.

I’m writing this on behalf of my parents who are too upset to write a review. They went for dinner on Friday night with friends and we’re anticipating a wonderful experience given the reviews. They had ordered dinner and getting poured a second glass of red wine when the wine pourer exploded. The wine spread over everyone at the table causing stress for all. The waiter was very comforting and helped clean them up and was apologetic. They decided to stay and finish their meal and asked how we are going to be compensated for wine being spilt on there clothes. The owners response was I will reluctantly refund the desert and they felt that the whole meal should be free. The evening finished with the owner telling them to PISS OFF. My parents dine out regularly and have never had such a poor experience.

This was clearly one of our worst accidents here, no doubt. I can only apologies for it (and I did that already, many times, on every platform and in person). Situations like this are tricky. Nobody knows what the other party expects. We have been as open as possible and immediately offered compensation for any damage: Dry cleaning obviously and any expenses to that end, at the very least. That was accepted (at least it was not refused). Your parents party stayed and they kept eating and drinking. It appeared they settled down and had a good evening after all. When it came to the bill, we would have been very, very generous: all free drinks, desserts and more (a $200 voucher was ready to be handed over). However, your parents decided that THEY WON'T PAY, nothing at all. They didn't ask, they didn't negotiate, they just told us and left. If an experience is worth $0 then you don't stay, you leave asap. They stayed, for well over an hour after the incident, and kept enjoying our food, drinks and service. I leave it to anybody who reads this to decide for themselves. I certainly was upset.

Last night, 31 July 2021, was our first visit to this venue. My partner was surfing the net to find somewhere to take us for a well deserved treat. We had a look online at the menu after his booking had been confirmed and were drooling at the selection and flavours available. Getting there was easy and a part of Como that I can say we have not visited much in the past. Arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff and shown to our table. We had cocktails to start and a lovely bottle of red wine and sparkling water. We decided to not tell each other what we were ordering to which the waitress was on board with. Everything was spectacular. Bit hard for any venue to get those kinds of remarks from a former chef. We did share our courses with each other, which we have always done and everything was met with a resounding YUMM. Our meal, 2 cocktails, bottle of red, bottle of sparkling water, 3 courses, bread and palate cleanser came to $329. Works out to about the expected range of @ $80 per head taking into consideration of our extras. Other reviews talked about the nice placement of table being apart from each other was correct. Hate it when you are packed in like sardines and staff have trouble getting around. So not the case with this venue. We will be back soon.

I would love to start saying thank you to the owner and all the staff for making my dinner celebration very special. I have been there many times and I am always impressed throughout the dining experience. I have invited my closed friends to celebrate my citizenship and everyone was really pleased by the fine dining experience. We had 3 courses mid-week dining menu and each dish was well executed and incredibly presented! Wine list is quite extent with great selection of Australian wines! It made me very happy to know my friends enjoyed it! I always recommend this diner to everyone who is looking for great food and service. I will definitely be back!

There is no question why Juniper & Bay was voted no 1 restaurant in Australia. This place has it all. The food is interesting and amazing. The ambiance is perfect, and its also value for money. It was great to see owner/ chef Soren Koberstein so involved in his business, constantly attending to tables, making all guests feel welcome. This place has jumped the queue to our new favourite. It was the prefect romantic dinner out.

It's been a little over a year since we vowed to return to Juniper and Bay, this time as a couple. Whilst enticed by the degustation menu, we were drawn to the a la carte options. Booking on line was very easy and our table was just being cleared as we arrived (a few minutes early). The food was excellent - the chicken with a dusted rainbow corn puree was melt in your mouth and the flavours of each component of the dish beautiful. Service was flawless and it was a perfect meal.

Degustation birthday dinner for a friend. This meal was worth the try. Serves were small as degustations can be but I left still a little hungry. It’s a small restaurant with a lovely ambience but can get rather loud. Service was good although at times hard to get a servers attention if you need a drink refill. Worth a Recommendation.

Absolutely amazing experience – ambient atmosphere, where everything – to the little detail – from chairs and lights to the smallest ornament on the glass is in perfect harmony. Service is exemplary – I think we even were served by the sous-chef at one stage, polite and lovely staff. Fantabulous food – where every flavour is as if on MasterChef or in the movies – I had prawns, salmon and chocolate mouse, and every dish was melting in my mouse and bursting with a firework of flavours! Definitely a go go!!! :)

I booked this place for our brief date night out. Booking is via online and it was easy, confirmation via sms and email. Each booking is 2 hrs block. What can I say? Staff are so attentive, we accidentally dropped a fork and before we could ask, there was a staff replacing it for my wife. We both of course went for the roast duck. I am not a fan of duck, but for the second time this year I gave it a go. It was simply delicious. The red cabbage and dumpling blended well with the duck and best of all the meat was not dried. For the side dish we went with green garden salad and roast potatoes. I just loved the ambient atmosphere of Juniper and Teh service.

We were introduced to this restaurant last night. We were two couples. Great food and service. Each could shared an entree : popcorn chicken/tempura prawns. We all had the fillet steak cooked to our preference with a side of duck fat potatoes. Three had desert and one an afogatto. Three coffees, bottle of wine and couple of beers. Worked out to roughly $100 per head which i felt was well priced for what we had. Chef was visible around the tables which i reckon is a good sign that he trusts the kitchen staff and he gets an understanding of his clients. Will definitely return. Well done Team Juniper.

The dishes were not only beautifully presented but they were exceptional in taste. The amuse bouche was lovely, we both had the prawn entree which was so flavoursome, the beef was perfectly cooked and my chicken was absolute the softest I have ever had. The hazelnut icecream was great. The service by staff was attentive and personable. We will definitely return. Thank you for a great dining experience.
