Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Add this restaurant to your bucket list when dining out in the Albany region. This is very high quality food, presentation, venue and service. The scallops entree was the best I've ever had. Lick the plate clean type scrumptious. The lamb mains was exquisitely tasty...and presented. The paella too was excellent, but a little more kick from a dash of chilli and lime would have sent it to the exquisite level. The views and venue is very beautiful, and the service was superb. Pricey, but it matches the quality of the food, service and venue. We'll be back.More

Amazing food and stunning views. We had the mussles, the squid and the lamb. Everything was really delicious and the home made bread was exquisite.

Absolutely fantastic meal, experience, view and staff. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommend for anyone staying in Albany. The menu is to the point and well thought out, pointing you in the direction of great food. The staff were all fantastic, not pretentious as...some wineries can be, but these staff were down to earth and were attentive. The chef came out at the end of service and spoke to us about his ideas for his upcoming menu. He genuinely wanted our input, which as a paying customer, is how you know someone cares about the food they are serving. He is not in it purely to turn a profit, if so they would be selling parmies/parmas (depending where your from) and beers. The meal we had was delicious, venison, house made bread and scallop ceviche just to name a few. We will definitely be back to try their menu which changes every two months. Thank you for the experience.More

First time we'd been there, the setting was gorgeous overlooking the vines and the restaurant warm and cosy with a fire. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to the hype for us. We had the $70 (2 course) lunch and found this very over priced...and underwhelming and we were still hungry at the end. The dessert was fabulous but the mains were the let down. Minimal choices, the vegetarian was a pumpkin ravioli, which was only luke warm, the pumpkin undercooked and the sauce watery. The fish roulade had some slightly undercooked pieces. Sides had to be ordered on top of the $70 & everyone voted the crispy potatoes (another $16) the best part! The wait staff were lovely. Probably wont be rushing back though.More

Monty's Leap stands out as supposedly one of the "better restaurants" in the Albany region. BUT, Albany W.A. could never be accused of having any good restaurants. Monty's has delusions of grandeur but delivers very expensive small portions, perfunctory service and inexplicably no telephone listed...or available. So, climb down off your high horse Monty's and try harder.More

This is an excellent experience for a long leisurely lunch. I overheard a diner say “I’m stopping at Maccas to fill up on the way home” - I hope that was a joke, if not he entirely missed the point! The food was absolutely, indisputably...first rate. We started with house bread and the vinocoto (excuse the spelling) and the skewers of octopus and chorizo - both delivered a fabulous blend of flavours. For mains we chose the duck and the lamb. Both meals again delivered with layers of texture and flavour. And I couldn’t resist the mango crème brûlée- had to have two spoons and share it though! We chose the Monty’s leap Rose to accompany the meal and it did they job nicely. A first class lunch experience.More

Really wanted to eat here as it was highly recommended. I was very impressed. Food was awesome. We had the duck, Green range lamb and sambal Brussel sprouts dishes. Lamb was amazing, best ever. Loved the Brussel sprouts. Duck was perfectly done. Wine was great...- enjoyed the mulberry block Chardonnay and the Pinot noir. Highly recommend eating here. Make sure you book ahead. Oh and I forget to mention - fabulous views too!More

Family took us after their one and only experience very favourable. Sadly not the case second time. We love scallops but they were the strangest scallops we’ve ever tasted. SKATING on thin ice here. Next we chose the Wagin Duck as we big fans and...yes, it should be cooked pink but not raw and TOUGH, fat not rendered. Mango Creme Brûlée not particularly flavoursome or delightful. Big bucks at this place. Bottle of Sauvignon Blanc excellent. Won’t be returning nor recommending. Great venue but really, it’s all bout the food, right?More

A short drive from Perth to an immaculate vineyard and stunning restaurant. Great for lunch with a small, but tasty menu. Loved the Tiger Prawn Cocktail and shared a pasta main.
