We wanted to choose somewhere for our final night in Wodonga that was memorable. Boy did we find the place! Location appears to be old wool sheds and appearance understated from the outside but don’t let that put you off. We were greeted warmly. Tables...were suitably spaced so privacy is not an issue. The whole family was very happy. Kids had the steak (best steak ever apparently) and nuggets respectively, together with the simple ice cream and sauce. Us adults chose the 3 course meal. We’ve paid more for 3 courses elsewhere so the price is great for what you get. Serving sizes were perfect. Entrees of scallops, pork belly and tortellini were slowly eaten to savour the amazing tastes. Mains of eye filet and fish were equally enjoyed. Dessert tipped our bellies to the edge but it was well worth it. If you want to have a special meal then this is the place to go.More

The most delightful dining with the most delicious food experienced in a very long time. A two course menu with matching wines was perfect. Seared Scallops wonderful, Cured trout perfect. Main course Duck breast and Eye fillet simply delicious and cooked to perfection. The wines...were perfectly matched. Our waitress Courtney ran the floor in a calm manner without intruding on conversation. I would highly recommend dining at Miss Amelie.More

I booked to go to Miss Amelie to belatedly celebrate birthdays for my husband and I, as I had been there a couple of years ago and really loved it. I had booked for 7pm, but called to see if we could go earlier, as...I had been facilitating a workshop that day and was tired and wanted an early dinner. We arrived at 6.45 and were shown our table, given the drinks list, served our bottle of choice and given a piece of focaccia. I watched three more tables of people arriving over the next half an hour and still we hadn't been given a menu! So I went up and got them myself, then went to find a waitress, explaining that we wanted to order and get in before the groups who had arrived after us. She was not our designated waitress, but kindly took our order. The waitress who had been allocated to our table came and apologised and I explained that I wanted our order to be processed before the groups who had just arrived and she assured me it would be. Fifteen minutes later, the Head Chef delivered our entrees and apologised again and said they would "pick it up from here". And so we sat for another 40 minutes, waiting and watching, as all the other tables were then served their meals ahead of us! By that stage we had been at the restaurant for almost an hour and a half. I picked up my handbag and we approached the serving bench and I told the Head Chef that we were leaving. He said "but your meals are ready now - we are about to serve them", I told him it was just too late. He and the two waitresses were completely aware of our situation and still we had been overlooked. It was such a disappointing experience. The evening we had looked forward to so much had been ruined and we ended up leaving and ordering a takeaway pizza from a cafe in the street, on the way back to our accommodation! It goes to show that while the food and ambience may be good at a restaurant like Miss Amelie, which generally has a good reputation, it is dangerous to rest on your laurels and poor service can completely ruin the experience.More

Wow!!! A wonderful culinary experience? This fabulous restaurant is located centrally in the historic Wodonga railway station. The staff are friendly and helpful. My husband and I ordered an entre of mushroom tortalini. The flavours were nuanced and delicate, so delicious. I had the lamb...shoulder and hubby had the fillet of beef. The lamb was melt in your mouth quality and the fillet was cooked to perfection! The sides were very moorish but also filling. would have loved the lemon souffle for dessert but I was too full. Definitely a must next time. We will be back!More

Booked for my wife's 60th birthday. Service from our waitress was excellent. Meals, as always, beautifully presented, very tasty and cooked to perfection. Entrees were mushroom ravioli and scallops with prawns, my wife's duck main was rare and tender and my barramundi with clams and...kale was just amazing. The carrot cake was really enjoyed by my wife. Another great dining experience from Miss Amelie, thank you.More

Wodonga has a real winner !!! Last night - Never thought I would find such a lovely, fantastic restaurant hidden away in the old railway buildings. Best soufflé I have ever had outside France !! The main meal was magnificent, perfectly cooked and sauced Fillet...steak with some great sides. The selection of wines was very good too, just needs a tweak on the presentation and a few little additions. Staff super helpful, non pretentious, attentive and efficient. Owner & Chef David - what talent and such great hospitality skills.. Highly recommended you take the time to take the detour if travelling between Sydney and Melbourne. Will be back - THANKS.More

I have wanted to visit Miss Amelie for a while and it did not disappoint. We were greeted by friendly warm staff who ensured we had a delightful evening. Starting with a fabulous Lemon Meringue cocktail. We moved into a delicious meal. I enjoyed every...course. We were seated by the kitchen and our observation was it was a slick and congenial operation. We really enjoyed our special dinner together and will return when we are in the area again. It was busy and they made us feel special. Thank you.More

This was a pleasant surprise, pastry was perfectly flakey, the inside was minced steak, with a good amount of onion to warrant the name steak and onion. Good selection of unusual pies such as red curry duck, butter chicken and a selection of vegetarians that...are not your standard kind. Cafe clean and tidy, getting a table was tricky, as it's sparsely furnished probably due to COVID. Staff friendly enough. Plenty of outdoor dinning, but it was too cold and rainy today, to even consider outdoor dining for this tropical girl.More

A must for anyone who appreciates fine dining! We were traveling through the area and found this restaurant and booked the last sitting for the night. It was a late 8:30 (late for us) and we decided on the 2 courses as we’d had a...late lunch. We both have the eye fillet…cooked to perfection! We opted not to have sides as we wanted room for dessert! Yes…we chose main and dessert for our two courses. After mains were devoured we had dessert. I’d ordered the soufflé which was amazing! But remember that if you order this that perfection needs time! 😉 My friend had the crème brûlée and demolished it! We finished with coffee…good crème and left us totally satisfied. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Nice to see the chef and kitchen staff in the open kitchen. All very professional. A fabulous night out.More

We visited just prior to Christmas to celebrate my wife’s granddaughter’s 19th birthday. Due to them being very busy, the earliest we could book was 8pm and that was on a Thursday night! We arrived and were seated in a comfortable lounge area adjacent to...the reception desk and offered drinks whilst e waited for our table to be available and other guests to arrive. We were warmly greeted by a staff member and shown to our table. The atmosphere is casual but the standard of service is anything but. We were shown a drinks menu and the women chose cocktails, which were very nice. We all chose 2 courses (in our case, mains and desserts) from a varied and extensive menu. I chose the 18 hour Lamb Fillet, two of us chose the Pan Seared Salmon and the Korean Beef. We also ordered sides of potatoes, steamed greens and a garden salad( these are all provided in enough quantity to share between everyone at your table-a great idea as you get a little bit of everything!) I have to say I have been fortunate enough to have dined in some of the finest restaurants in Paris and the UK and I could not fault this place. Service was friendly and prompt without giving you the feeling of being rushed. The meals were all fabulous- delicious, full of flavour and with a balanced combination of textures. We were not prepared for the amazing desserts when they arrived. Like the mains, they were beautifully presented and wonderful. Who would have thought we would have a world class restaurant on the VIC/NSW border? Be warned, it isn’t cheap- all up cost was $390.00 for the 4 of us but it was a special occasion and well worth it given the quality of the experience. Highly recommended.More

Reviewing after being to the restaurant every fortnight from 2017-2019. I’ve since moved to London and luckily managed to travel extensively during COVID (safely). I’ve been able to visit some of the worlds best restaurants over the last 2 years, including Michelin Star venues in...Portugal, Portugal, Madeira, England and Croatia. Miss Amelie is comfortably in the Top 3 restaurants I’ve been to globally. Not just for atmosphere (which I am inherently biased for, given my proximity) but mainly the quality of food and wine offered. It is simply unrivaled, particularly in Victoria and Australia & the Southern Hemisphere! I can’t wait to come back and see the constant improvements.More

The food was amazing! Would have to say it’s the best food we have eaten in the Albury-Wodonga region so far. Beautifully presented and flavoursome. The service we received at our table was great and no adjustments we requested were ever made to be a...concern which was much appreciated, thank you. The only feedback was regarding the door greeter. Once greeted we were looked up and down, unsure if we were under dressed but it was a great way to make people feel uncomfortable. Otherwise, overall fantastic experience and would love to come back many times over with friends and family.More
