We had lunch there with kids and friends. Bad decision. Even though it is well located and a nice setting that won't help with the food and service. The calamari was the worst that I've tried for a long time, the pizza was a joke (bad one) and the waitress was clueless. For a restaurant it was not too badly... More

I eat at a lot of Melbourne city and inner West places. Typically a group of us look for Food around the $17 mark with cheap drinks. In our view this place is one of the best. Pastas are the pick of the menus and are absolutely fantastic for the price. Chicken pasta and Sicilian are great picks. Jug of... More

Last minute decision to stop here for lunch midweek. What a gem. Quick & friendly service, reasonable prices, relaxing atmosphere but there's more.. had the most amazing tasting baked barramundi that I have ever eaten. The flavour of the sauce was outstanding and fish cooked to perfection, was served with Greek salad, partner had smoked salmon & avocado risotto, again... More

Visited this eatery for lunch. The setting is nice, prices are set in the 1980s and so is the food. Ordered 2 steaks medium. Not sure what decade the steaks were from but they were both like hard over cooked ice hockey puks plated by a 5 year old. Also had a spaghetti bolognese for the kids which was just... More

I should have listened to my gut instinct from the time we walked in. Waited at the counter to be seated....after 3 staff walked past us, without even an acknowledgement, didn't seem to be interested or doing too much. Finally we were spoken to and taken to our table. After some time, we were asked to order, so placed our... More

We purchased an $18 Porterhouse Steak because they had stopped their Special $12 Fillet menu, however, it was still advertised on their menu. We then found a bug, about 2cm big in the mushroom sauce. They did not compensate on the meal and still charged us full price on our order. All we got was a "sorry". We won't be... More

Went out with a 3 mates for lunch a few days ago. I've been to Al Porto Vecchio maybe four or five times over the past 30 years and in that time it's a small number of different owners. It's not gastropub style or fine dinning but it's good quality food, reasonably priced, and the service is fine. Two of... More

3 of us had a light lunch here recently. Steak sandwich with fries & salad (best I've seen in a long time) & a beer, chicken schnitzel with salad & glass of wine, spaghetti matriciana with a beer, all for $54 ! They have outdoor dining but it was windy enough to blow a dog off its chain, so we... More
