After hearing good reports about this restaurant I went there with my wife to celebrate her birthday. The wine and food was excellent. Went to Samesyn last August ( and gave it a great review) so returned this weekend to see if it was a one off. Another great experience - wonderful service and ambience. The torched sardines were fresh and flavoursome but my slow cooked lamb was...a standout - perfect generous serve and flavour packed. As one other reviewer noted - this may be one of the best dining experiences in Victoria. We concur.More
A very enjoyable evening at this Torquay local that is punching above it's weight. Well designed menu using local, top quality ingredients. Lovely beetroot starter and the impressive torched sardines dish were both faultless and the Otway duck main (a terrific product) as delicious as...one would expect. Desserts likewise both excellent. The one kitchen misfire that did occur was immediately and graciously rectified. Only substantive complaint we had centers on the bread, which was appallingly bad. Slices of a poor quality baguette with a shard-like crust and mealy crumb....really no excuse. Melbourne pricing, so not a cheap night out but generally justified. Wine list is excellent- both interesting and good value; complemented with top quality glassware. Seating is well spaced and the service was both friendly and professional.More
Have to go along way for this experience. We bought our daughter and partner a voucher for his new restaurant and she was was so impressed, and not always easy to please this much, that she took us there a week later. Excellent food, and...brilliant menu.More

Restaurants take a leaf out of Samesyn's book. Happy to pay the price for service with a smile. We went here for a family birthday and they could not have been more accommodating. We had a picky 15 year old, a pescatarian and a daughter...running late from the city. Nothing was an issue, they took it all in their stride. Some of the wines on the list weren't available but I just love the way it was handled with good humour. The food is nothing short of outstanding but it is that personal touch; good natured staff prepared to go out of their way to accommodate all the quirks of a family of 6 that makes this place a stand out. Highly recommend Samesyn - just make it easier to leave a tip on the eftpos machine!More

Brilliant experience from start to finish. Great service ( I mean really knew their menu/wine etc) and every dish was sublime. The share structure worked really well - and we left full! Set menu with a few options to choose from and the delicious food is best shared. Excellent service from the floor staff with the occasional visit from the kitchen staff to describe the dishes

Booked into Samesyn after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and we are so glad we did. This is a hidden treasure in Torquay. The fixed price menu offers such good value and it was so generous that we had to decline the cheese course. We especially...loved the oysters, tuna taco, duck and peach dessert. The service was impeccable and we appreciated the dessert wine gifted to us because we didn’t have all the courses, little touches like that mean a lot. Definitely recommend Samesyn when you are next near Torquay - book early as it was fully booked on a Wednesday night!More

A return visit to Torquay brought our fond memory of great food back to Samesyn . We had the tasting menu and every dish was a palate discovery that’s fresh and yet complex. Love it!
Decor peaceful,received a warm welcome from our presenter Liam who knew his menu. We had entrees of Octopus with confit potato,smoked almond and fennel.Cured Snapper,oyster custard and seaweed.Asparagus with fermented zucchini and garlic hazelnut.All were good with the standout being the Octopus. My main of...Murray Cod with cucumber and chives and cod bacon was very good. A good wine list rounded off the evening nicely.More
Have been for both lunch & dinner with different friends and the food is unbelievably beautiful. Definitely the best restaurant in Torquay and if it doesnt have a hat or two, it should. We all loved it & will keep returning.
