Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Three years has passed since I have been to this Hotel, when I first visited I lived in another part of the state, but in the last couple of years I have been a local. (Depending on one's definition of a local- I haven't done...20 years :) ) I was invited to join a group who were the most marvellous company - really lovely people and they have a standard spot on their calendar to have dinner here. The staff were incredible...so polite, so helpful... even when a staff member broke something later whilst clearing the tables, they were professional and polite. Food was much better than last time I visited. This was winning on all accounts. It's a country town pub with great history behind it.More

Our family group of 32 met for our Xmas get together in the decorated Courtyard and all enjoyed the delicious meal. The publican Paul & staff made us extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. In our opinion The Royal would have to be...the best venue in Seymour for a large group. We will definitely go back.More

Fathers Day lunch with family, great meal beef roast, lashings of veg and beef, Flat Head tails fresh and plenty of them. Kids were picky with their meal as usual, possibility include a sweet with kids meal mousse or ice cream and jelly. Overall very...pleasant staff and great meals. Great venue where you can hold the kids interest with tales of ghosts up stairs, and a walk down to the river afterwards.More

Spacious, atmospheric, comfortable and reasonably prices. Excellent communication and assistance with food choices, room layout and any other questions I had. Guests comments on the calibre of the staff, were "welcoming", "professional", "friendly" and "very accommodating". Carvery for 60+ guests (adults and children). So many...compliments from Victorian and interstate guests. 3 roast meats, with a great selection of vegetables and salads. Amazing venue with Amazing staff. Nothing but praise. Thanks, and pat yourselves on the back for everything you did to make this family get together the fantastic day it was.More

One of the best country pub meals we’ve experienced. The chicken parmigiana was so tender snd the steak was the bomb! The local wine served is also a very nice drop.

3 visits over 2 weeks and probably around 2 decades since I have spent time in Seymour pubs. Can't fault staff. Very attentive. Watched how they helped visitors who were stopping in. They would have a locals beer on the counter as they walked in...the door. Even blow in like me by my third visit they knew what I was drinking. Food, great portion size. Again waitress very attentive. Thoroughly reccomend.More

We got there early, so it was quiet - filled up later, and became noisy! Best beef brisket I’ve ever had, and one of best dishes of lambs fry for my husband! Great service, but popular, so make sure you book!
