Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Third time to this special place and it seems to get better and better. The food and the service can’t be faulted. Just love it. A home away from home ambiance but with lots of special treats

THIS. That could be a one word review. How privileged we were to get the last table at this amazing restaurant. Everything about the service, location and absolutely perfect food quality said 10 stars! Everything was fresh, local and served with advice and a welcoming...smile.More

Blake’s is brilliant. The service is excellent and the food is fantastic. The seafood platter is our favourite. We have had it on each of our four visits to Blakes over the years. The desserts are terrific - the profiteroles are perfect. The wine list...is extensive but not overly expensive. I would totally recommend Blakes - it is one of the reasons that we visit Port Fairy each year.More

We had a fantastic meal here on a Friday night. The tables and ambience was just right, enough room between tables not to be bothered by neighbouring diners or staff walking past. We had all seafood - the chowder was awesome, not too rich and...lots of seafood, beautiful flavours! The best chowder I’ve had was in the west of Ireland, this was just as good and for good reason, the chef is from the west of Ireland! We then had the seafood board to share which was equally as good - prawns, oysters, mussels, coral perch, snapper, blue grenadier and salmon (none fried), served with roasted cauliflower and rocket. Best seafood meal I’ve had for a very long time! Staff were really lovely, Donna is so helpful and friendly. Worth coming to Port Fairy for alone! Thank youMore

The owner wasn't really bothered to welcome us. She just pointed to the menu on the entrance door and basically told us that was all they served. Not really interested in serving us. Needless to say we didn't bother to give her our business. Honestly...why run an f&b business when you are so u bothered? No need to come to this place.More

We come to Port Fairy every year for the literary weekend. We like Blakes for its reliably good food and service, plus its well-made cocktails (we stay within walking distance). Tonight we both had the special Tasmanian scallop entree, then I had the eye fillet...main, and my wife had the Mirror dory. All dishes were expertly cooked just right. Service was helpful and timely. Highly recommended.More

Food was superb and the service was excellent. Seafood chowder and steak were the best we have ever had. Small intimate restaurant. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Not cheap but worth every dollar. Beautiful ambiance, experienced, knowledgeable and helpful staff and superb food. The eye fillet and fresh seafood platter were standouts. The art on the walls, which were for sale really added to the ambience. What a talented artist. Highly recommended...but make sure you book.More

My seafood chowder was thoroughly delicious. Bread was moist with crunchy crust. Seafood platter, not deep fried, great selection. Lovely dining rooms for just 10 or so patrons. Friendly courteous staff.

Yes children are very welcome but please be advised we don’t offer a children’s menu. Our younger guests happily eat off our a la carte menu. Thanks
