Fantastic breakfast and lunch cafe

We enjoyed three breakfasts and one lunch here during the very busy Labour Day long weekend, when the town was inundated with visitors. The staff were always friendly and polite, even though they were really busy, and food was fantastic. My husband declared that his Eggs Benedict were the best he’s ever had, so he ordered them every day! They didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the banana bread which was served with fresh fruit, and the Bircher Muesli, which was delicious. The chefs obviously take a lot of pride in sending out food that not only tastes great, but looks great too. Well worth a visit (or four!), the menu is interesting and the prices are good.

What a great place

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast here on what was a very cold morning for our visit to Port Fairy. Have been to Port Fairy some time ago and forgot how cute it is and this cafe just adds to the peaceful serenity of what is a great little town. Clearly popular with locals and visitors , I am glad we arrived early as when walking past only an hour or so after we left , the tables both inside and out were all full. The food is generous in size and cooked with flair and all at a good price point. Very charming little premises and we look forward to coming back to Port Fairy as well as Bank St + Co.

Tasty Breakfast

We ate breakfast here this morning and chose the homemade granola, yoghurt and fruit which was wholesome and tasty. We shared the Laurent raisin toast served with butter and marmalade and washed them down with a Toby’s Estate coffee. A very pleasant start to the day.

We were there early and looking forward to a leisurely breakfast. The staff who opened up was abrupt and we didn't feel welcome or comfortable. However she does make good coffee! My husband ordered sourdough with condiment ($11) and I had the eggs benedict ($20). When another staff brought out the meals we were appalled when we saw the condiment. Please see pic of the condiment-disgraceful! The eggs benedict was fine. We didn't stay for a 2nd cuppa ...

amazing brunch

Our host recommended this cafe and it was in the center of port fairy, just 5 mins walk from where we lived. The brunch experience is amazing. We didn't wait though it was the holiday season and the staff was all friendly. The food looked fancy and tasted yummy. We really enjoyed it.

Sunday breakfast

We were recommended to try this venue for breakfast and were happy we did. Staff were friendly, the service was very prompt and the venue was very clean. We ordered the halloumi salad (gluten free), poached eggs with bacon and chorizo and two coffees. The salad was a very generous serve and could have been shared. Both meals were delicious. Would definitely recommend this venue.

Couldn't ask for a better breakfast/brunch experience.

Friendly helpful staff, even in these hard to find staff times this cafe has kept on a crew of long serving members that reward the owners efforts through Covid times with smiles and attention to detail. Likewise in the kitchen, Matt & Ricky have shown innovation with a menu that includes breakfast standards done really well, and new ideas to tempt you to come back for lunch. My fav is the Eggs Benedict with salmon & a crisp bacon on fresh sourdough, or a spiced pumpkin butternut with poached eggs number with fetta and greens.

Breakfast on a cold July morning

At the time we were wandering around looking for a nice hot breakfast, this was the only place that offered a sit-down breakfast. The coffee was good and the pot of green tea was very generous, I had eggs bene with bacon and he had eggs and tomato. Both meals were really enjoyable.

Uncharacteristic fail

We have been here several times before, but this visit wasn’t up to standard. Coffee has always been good, but this time it was barely drinkable. My scallop special was oily and unpleasant, the scallops fresh but a little chewy, and all sitting on the “crispy” potato, making it soggy. My wife’s breakfast granola was, however, good, and a generous serve. I know many cafes are struggling at the moment, so hopefully this is just a hiccup and it will return to form.

Perfect breakfast

We spent a few days in Port fairy and each morning we would go to Bank st + co for our breakfast. The menu was interesting with lots of fresh fruit and delicious granola. The coffees were wonderful and the staff are also friendly and welcoming. A wonderful way to start each day. Highly recommend

Fresh food and tasty coffee

This is nice cafe for breakfast. The food was fresh and the servings were large. The coffee is very good. You can purchase take away coffee at the front of the cafe where a second coffee machine is set up. The staff are friendly and efficient!

Incredible breakfast.

Great, well spiced and seasoned breakfasts. A bit unorthodox in their interpretations, but really tasty if your palate is up for it. We had their non traditional bubble and squeak and avocado, feta and pumpkin on sourdough. Probably not good for kids. Great coffees. Great , fast, attentive service.. generous portions. We will be back.

Seriously DELICIOUS! Worth

Seriously DELICIOUS! Worth every penny. Loved the menu and so far this week I have been there 4 times. Portions are generous and the menu is varied enough so you can work your way though it in the course of a week. Today had the avocado on toast with amazing sweet potato mash with cumin and a touch of sweet (maybe honey) anyway it was sensational. Then had to come back for lunch as breakfast was so good and had the seared scallops - perfectly cooked and accompanied by roast carrots and a silky smooth orange pure which was probably also carrot or pumpkin or sweet potato. Anyway I could not stop making appreciative noises to the embarrassment of my husband. Staff are nice and friendly and the coffee is good too - strong enough. The bacon is from a farm somewhere - check menu, and is very flavoursome. Highly highly recommend this café.

Good coffee for a slow morning.

Very cute, good looking menu and everyone happy with their drink. I will preface this with a note that we visited on a very busy morning at the end of a long weekend so no doubt the staff were tiring and run off of their feet, however we had a near 30 minute wait for service and takeaway coffee. Would definitely like to see an improvement in efficiency on the coffee machine. We would happily visit again.

Very speedy service and amazing food! Coffee was really good too. We had a house made granola and smashed avo/poached eggs for breakfast. We’ll be back to try other menu items next time ☺️
