Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff at this establishment are always friendly and polite! The same customer service person that took our order has been there the previous two times we have come here. (We've been here in Port Campbell for the third year running around the same time of the year.) Be prepared to wait for your order. There are plenty of people in the region in warmer weather with few eateries. The pizza is worth the wait though. There is plenty of seating outside. But, the entrance to this eatery isn't wheel-chair or disability friendly. Plus being so busy, staff are under the pump and hardly get a chance to clear tables ready for more customers wanting to sit while they wait for their order or eat their order. Not once while I have been there, has there been people allowed to dine inside. Luckily the days I've been there have all been sunny!

The restaurant was unfortunately closed for dining in on the Saturday night that we were in Port Campbell. However, they offered a takeaway service which was hugely popular. There was seating available outside which was full! Although it was very busy, the service was reasonably quick and the pizza was delicious!

You get to choose the ingredients of the pasta and pizza which is a great idea. I had spaghetti with mushrooms which tasted very nice, to be honest. The problem was the pasta came all cut which is a huge NO for spaghetti. The pasta-experience is to get your spaghetti wrapped around your fork and I obviously couldn't. I am not a fan of complaining and wasting food and the flavour was great so I ate it anyway. The staff was lovely and it's a very nice restaurant to have diner but this is a pasta and pizza restaurant so please DO NOT CUT the spaghetti from the start!

The online reviews had given us hope, which we discovered to be completely misplaced. Starting from the menu there are some absolutely absurd pizzas (some with barbecue sauce, pineapple or hummus) so I decided to throw myself on a margherita so as not to die. The ingredients listed were as follows: garlic, Napoli, fresh tomato; I ask what Naples was and I am told it is a seasoned tomato sauce...ok. Ah, "mozzarella" wasn't on the list but it was present on the pizza. All in all, the staff were friendly and helpful and even though we had to wait 45 minutes for two pizzas (a small and full place, a lot of people queuing) we took them to the hotel hopefully. What can I say: calling them pizzas is an insult to Italian cuisine, horrible flavour, very present garlic (probably powdered), hard/dry consistency, unidentifiable bitter aftertaste. Luckily I got the medium one and not the large one. Guys, take a trip to Italy before reviewing this as delicious pizza!

I struggle to understand how it is possible to make a pizza so utterly tasteless . I swear not a single grain of salt or grind of pepper came anywhere near this soggy bottomed effort. The quality of the ingredients left a lot to be desired.

Not a good experience sadly. Food (pizza and pasta) was very good but management need to think again about how to run a restaurant. We booked and arrived at our given time. We were then told that we would have to wait for 40 minutes once we had ordered our food because ' they had a lot of take away orders to complete before they could do our food'. No! The timing of the people who had booked should be honoured first and, if necessary, take aways told they would have to wait. What's the point of booking if we end up at the back of the line behind people who have just turned up! Sorry, that's not good customer service

Hi Lauren, Thank you for your feedback. There are many aspects to consider when running a restaurant and I appreciate your perspective. If only all our bookings arrived as planned. We are glad that you enjoyed your meal. PS The traditional wait time to make a created meal from scratch is approx 25 min.

Very genuine and friendly staff who were truly passionate about the restaurant. While the restaurant was fairly busy, the staff were relaxed and ensured all guests had a pleasant visit and enjoyed their food. My kids (10 and 14) and myself loved the “create your own pasta and pizza” experience. After my daughter had only chosen tomatoes and spinach to go with her pasta, the lovely chef came out to her to see if there was anything else she wanted to add to make it tastier. This was so amazing and sweet of the chef while the restaurant was clearly busy. They decided that potatoes and carrots would be added to the pasta dish and my daughter absolutely loved it. She wants to go back to Port Campbell to eat it again (not for the Great Ocean Road, she is 10 years old and wasn’t overly impressed ;)) My son and myself created a pizza that was also delicious. Highly recommended.

We had a Pizza and a lentilles salad, both was very good. Pizzas you can choose one of the five propositions or you can choose yourself the ingredients. The service was excellent too. You better book a table , specially if the weather is not good because inside they don’t have many tables.

Unfortunately we got to town a bit late so options were limited. Recommended to go here by our accomodation but $70 for 2 spaghetti serves and a pizza is a bit steep. Understood there was a wait of over 60 mins due to peak which was fine but end product not worth wait and cost sorry. Lovely ambience and friendly staff, if they revisit recipes and price could be great.

Excellent Service Excellent Food, arrived on a Tuesday afternoon in Dec, everywhere closed for dinner, even the local pub, only Real was open and were we in luck. Build your own pizza and pasta, with a little help from the staff. Excellent pizza base, great ingredients, the pasta was stunning, we had a prawn spicy affair, the wine by the glass was very reasonable and a limited but excellent selection of Oz wines from lesser known wineries across the South East.

Given the reviews on the internet, it's appealing and it's up to scratch. It is possible to create your own pizza or pasta, otherwise some are already proposed. We were very well received by two very smiling waitresses and we ate very well. An address to keep in Port Campbell.

So good to have such a great pizza place so close to everything in Port Campbell. We loved that we could just select options on a sheet of paper and just tick everything we wanted including a quinoa base and zucchini sauce base with loads of healthy vegan options! So good and so super tasty! The staff are so lovely and welcoming and helpful! Our pizza looked so lovey with the amazing fusion of colours and was so different to any other vegan pizza we have ever had. LOVED it!

We were staying in Port Campbell for one night only. We picked this place from photos online, because it looked clean. The welcome we got was warm and enthusiastic. We were shown to our table and the intricacies of the "build it yourself" menu for pizza and pasta dishes explained to us. When the food arrived, freshly cooked, (no microwaved stuff that I could see), it was amazingly good. My wife's pizza was hot, tasty and the topping was generous. I ordered the Carbonara with extra chicken and chorizo (I LIKE chorizo!) This dish was probably the best pasta dish I have had in a restaurant. it was superb. The ladies that were cooking and serving were so very friendly. If you visit Port Campbell, a visit to Real Pizza and Salad Bar is a must. Thank you to everyone involved for a memorable meal and visit.

Locals take precedence over travellers, our table was given to locals that just walked in (pushed in). Food is below average Pasta is cut up like it's for children. Pizza closely resembled a frozen supermarket pizza, although the supermarket type is better compared to what we were served. Spaghetti and meatballs was like a tin of crushed tomatoes, poured over cut up pasta, with burnt meatballs which could have been rissoles cut into 4. Never again would we eat here. Took an hour to get the order taken, then another hour for all 4 meals to arrive. Flies were everywhere. Local pub outdoor seating had less flies.
