Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Always a delight to visit Waves. As usual we : received a warm welcome, were escorted to our table, were attended to politely and unobtrusively, were served our (previously ordered) Crayfish Special, enjoyed a delicious sumptuous cray, salad (superb) fries and dips; delicious cheesecake and...sticky date dessert accompanied by a v tasty NZ Sav Blanc. Thank you again Waves. We look forward to another visit.More

We arrived at the end of the breakfast service & were told it would be fine if we order straight away which we did. The breakfasts were very poor - I was served the smallest, driest crumpled up grilled tomato with my meal, poached eggs...like bullets. What annoys me is that the chef would have been well aware of this & just thought if ok to put into the plate, it tells you all you need to know about standards. He/she obviously couldn't be bothered with cooking another tomato, or taking care with the eggs, thinking it will do! They weren't even busy, the staff who were all very pleasant I have to say, but standing around talking - our coffee eventually arrived mid way through breakfast. Very expensive for a very poor meal - I wouldn't return or recommend obviously.More

We visited on the long weekend so Port Campbell was extremely busy. They have a slimmed down lunch menu and a larger menu for evening service. The evening menu has plenty of variety including vegetarian options. The wine list and cocktail drinks list also has...some very good choices. The vegetarian curry was really lovely , great spices with a little bit of kick. Salad was fresh The lamb ribs melted in my mouth, very tasty and tender. Chicken ribs were also tasty We had a cocktail at the end that packed a punch, so yummy. The service can not be faulted, the only negative was it was very noisy. Definitely will be back.More

Best coffee in town made by Aaron. The ‘Green Reviver Smoothie’ was amazing. The staff were very friendly and inviting.

Lovely staff , great service . Haley they had a gluten free option for garlic bread . I had the lamb ribs which were unfortunately tough . My friend had garlic prawns which were nice . The rhubarb crumble was disappointing as it had hardly...any crumble which is the dish ! Can’t fault the staff or ambience but food was averageMore

Sad little restaurant that has been let go. Ridiculous pricing for food that is just as sad as the decor. $45 steak with a sad little spread of veg. "Sorry there is no gravy" If you're "chef" can't make gravy from scratch, you have no...business charging the prices you do. This could be a great little spot if some Money was put back into it. Staff were doing the best they can. Wouldn't return. Almost $200 for a sad spread of food and frozen prebattered fish frozen supermarket pizza with frozen yellow chips.More

This restaurant was recommended by the lovely lady at the nearby hotel/bar. She said it is the only place you should eat in Port Campbell. She was not wrong. We received a friendly welcome and efficient and friendly service throughout. There was a great atmosphere...and the food was delicious. The seafood pasta and the salmon were delicious and the crème brûlée was to die for. Worth a visit. You will not be disappointed.More

The right choice for a meal if you visit the area. Great and professional staff, great facilities and great food. Beats all the other options in the area and it was open on a Saturday.

We got a really friendly welcome here and the service throughout was very good. There’s a tasty range on the breakfast menu which included toasted muesli, yogurt and mixed berry compote (which I love). It was one of the best I’ve had, I guess they...make their own muesli, the berry compote was sweetened, but still very much on the right side of tart and the yogurt was plain - all perfect. I’m told the poached eggs were just as good and we both loved the coffee. We really recommend this place!More

Service was friendly but food was disappointing. Pumpkin soup lacked flavour and Greek salad was very overpriced. $15 for a few lettuce leaves, couple of olives, few chunks of underripe tomato and a sprinkling of feta. Not sure it was dressed in olive oil (was...a flavourless oil) and no vinegar.More

We stopped in for lunch here as many do on our Great Ocean Road trip having just been to the Twelve Apostles. A quick walk up and down the high street and Waves was the only place that seemed particularly welcoming. Albeit out of season...so not particularly busy, the staff made us feel very welcome and we’re attentive throughout. The food was lovely, served very promptly and good value for money. Vegetarian options available too.More
