This establishment tries to replicate the typical English country pub, but fails to an extent. Whilst there are plenty of beers on tap, and an excellent beer garden, the food tends to be mediocre. With only two visits - the second to make sure the first impression was correct - this is an establishment I would only visit again if... More

We have been here before and always in the past found the staff friendly. Today it wasn't very welcoming. My husband was ordering drinks at the bar and conversation one sided not friendly. Meals were ok. Decent size but were pricey for the chicken parmi compared to other places. My Beef and Guiness pie was nice but vegetables a bit... More

Best pub Iv been too since living in Australia for 9 years! Very cosy, pretty gardens, beer is good and a friendly intimate atmosphere. Takes me back to some of the lovely pubs back in England. Decided to make this our weekend regular.

We have visited this lovely traditional pub occasionally for over 8 years, tonight was a big disappointment. The regulars who stand round the bar, ensured that not only was there no space to be served, but by constantly jumping the queue, all other customers were waiting much longer. Unfortunately a friend of mine could not get passed the group, knocked... More

If you are looking for a nostalgic retro English pub this is the place. I think they have done a reasonable job of trying to replicate a pub of old times. We had a couple of pints of decent " local " beer but did not sample the food, however the food which was wafting by us looked good. There... More

Came here for New Years Eve dinner because we'd just returned home and didn't feel up to cooking plus we had wanted a bit of "atmosphere" to celebrate NYE. However, it was pretty quiet in the dining room with lots of empty tables - not sure whether the people just hadn't turned up or whether they'd all decided to sit... More

We went to check the pub out as it is local and we hadn't been in the district long. The young chap behind the bar couldn't have cared less and spent his time serving me whilst on his mobile phone. The range of beers is poor with only their own brew available. We didn't risk a meal and moved on.It is a pity... Had made a 6.30 booking as everyone had to work the next day, our meals got delivered at 8.30 ! Terrible wait, understaffed, staff were good under the pressure they had , no apologies on the wait. Average food . Very disappointed in this night . Probably won't go again.

A group of us 'mature' ladies went there for our Christmas lunch last week The meal was delicious, we were seated in the restaurant and arrived at midday, as there were 16 of us we had many laughs and were still enjoying ourselves at 4pm when we were asked to move into the public bar so the restaurant could be...
