Food was good, service average, portion sizes small, price excessive Sadly, this restaurant does not have the right to charge such exorbitant prices based on quality, quantity, and service delivered.

Having gone to Lorne amost annually and eating at the restaurant it was a very disapointing occasion. We booked, as always and arried on time. Servce was prompt to begin with bit it all went down hill from there. To summerize . Waites were slow...in taking our order. Food took well over an hour to come out and that we even complaining abut the time and being assured we were next but continully saw others being served before us. We it arrived well what can I say the surf and turf had no surf and the turf was tuff. The pasta was stiff and tastlest. The mussels served some were just the shells and noting in the dish. The chips were soggy. All the dishes were only warm not served hot. I can go on but lets just say it was not good. The resaurant was not full yet thereexcuse was they were short staffed???? Othe partons were overheard also complaining and they left without eating a lot of it. What has happened to this resaurant it use to be a place to go to?More

We both liked our main meal. The seafood was tasty and the chips were very good. It is expensive so at that price it needs to be exceptional to get a better rating. Beware of the desert. It was also expensive. My cheesecake was not...fresh and is probably the worst I have ever had.More

We were very disappointed by the exceptionally overpriced and very dull food that did not present as described. My husband’s marinara lacked flavour and the balance of pasta to sauce was heavily weighted towards pasta. My fish and scallop/ prawn parcel lacked flavour- and lacked...scallops/ prawns. I think I found one of each?!? Maybe jot quite one? There was very little care or attention given to the sides and the service was uninspiring. $200 would have bought us a lot of seafood and we could have cooked ourselves a much superior meal... Won’t go again. Very disappointed.More

A stalwart of the area, this restaurant is well known to tour groups, locals and families for their generous servings, good food and engaging hospitality. The building stands out due to the bright blue paint and is kind of funky. They are open for brunch,...lunch and dinner. Seating is inside or out, though the outdoor section is in high demand due to the views of Lorne Pier and the ocean. *On a hot day, I suggest sitting inside as it is air-conditioned. The interior is reminiscent of an old school restaurant complete with a wooden bar and open, raised kitchen, which is like a stage the chefs are performing on. The staff are magnificent and the owner will sit down and chat, or even have a tipple with you if you are lucky! Brunch is the usual breakfast staples, and they do the regular fish and chip type quick food. The lunch and dinner menus consist of entrees, including oysters, and the mains are predominantly seafood. Still, there are meat, salad and pasta options available, plus daily desserts specials on the board. Their kid’s menu will satisfy even the fussiest eater. Prices range from medium to high. Worth checking out, especially families. Recommendations Prawn and avocado salad - four large prawns with mixed salad and drizzled cocktail sauce - ala 1970’s. A light and tasty meal on a hot day, best accompanied by lemon, lime and bitters. Pavlova - mixed berries, cream, crushed meringue - the presentation wasn’t great, but boy it tasted amazing.More

My partner and I recently tried to have dinner at the Lorne Pier Seafood restaurant. We waited over an hour to get our food after checking the status of the food a couple of times. Other tables that arrived after us were getting their food...before us. When we finally received our food - both of us had ordered different fish dishes - the meat was completely over cooked. We don't usually complain but the consistency and the flavour made the food inedible. I do not recommend this place given their expertise is in seafood. We left and ate elsewhere.More

Great fresh seafood and friendly staff. Simple decor but great variety of really fresh and imaginative seafood. Friendly owner good for a chat.

I am not sure why this restaurant copped the bad reviews. We went there for a dinner and a lunch the next day. The food was EXCELLENT by any standards! (take it from me, I am an avid traveller and have lived in the US,...Europe and Australia). The service was attentive with a smile and the food was brought out promptly but not rushed (We ordered entrees, mains and dessert). The setting by Lorne Pier is awesome and overall the experience was one that gives lasting memoriesMore

Yes it is but they do have a corkage charge but found it worth it to enjoy wines that we had purchased and liked at cellar doors.
