Looking for something on this little island on a Monday morning was seeming to be a task . So we parked and went for a stroll . Very happy that we found cafe Lugano . No huge lines out the front on a Monday but it deserves it . Coffee was fantastic , but most surprising of all food was very well priced when the surrounding locations seem very expensive for what you generally get served up . Kids Egg and Bacon for $7. Was a great size meal for a 4yo and she smashed it down . We had the chill scrambled egg and the spiced pumpkin breakfast and seriously struggled to finish all the food and it was sublime. Food servings are an amazing size So Great location great atmosphere but most importantly great food .

Came here for breakfast. The prices are fairly extreme. Like bacon and eggs $20 sort of thing. I decided to go for the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich which was a bit cheaper at $14 but still kind of pricy for what it is. It was quite yummy though so at least that makes up for it.

We enjoyed an excellent variation on smashed avocado and poached egg at Cafe Lugano this morning, with chick peas and seeds. Yum. The rest of the menu looked healthy and they cater for GF and vegan diets. Coffee was up to the high standard we are finding in the independent shops across Australia.

I knew from friends that this café was run by a Ticino man from Capolago so we decided to have breakfast with him. I try to write my reviews without comparing them to those I find at home, Sottoceneri, CO, MI, VA. Here, however, there is only the name of Ticino. American, Australian breakfasts etc etc The only Swiss appearance are the rösti which are not really Ticino. Can't they hang at least one photo of Lugano which among other things is a beautiful place on the wall instead of the Afghan drinking from the saucer? Ga sem propi mia! Desedat padrun

Average breakfast experience. Eggs Benedict with salmon. Very generous serving of salmon, spinach and sourdough. Unfortunately, eggs were hard and over cooked with no sign of a runny yolk. Portion of hollandaise was poor. Also, potato rosties disappointed. They were frozen hash brown from the supermarket. Positive was the coffee - well roasted with lots of punch. Average experience overall

There were plenty of places to choose from for brunch on a Tuesday morning in lovely Cowes. We chose this one as it looked a bit quirky and we liked the menu. The coffee was good, not Melbourne good, but still nice. I had a gigantic serving of smashed avocado, roasted and spiced chickpeas on a very delicious sourdough toast with Persian feta sprinkled on top. My husband had an equally huge BLT which he pronounced as terrific. The staff were really cute. We would return.

Being a foodie I can without doubt recommend Cafe Laguno as the most delicious and value for money breakfast on the Island and we have eaten everywhere. We eat in for Breakfast twice a week and absolutely love the Salmon Delight with poached eggs. Hubby loves the scrambled eggs and the bacon is delicious. Great coffee, great service and atmosphere. We send all our guests there and they thank me for the recommendation. Recommend getting in early as they are always busy.

We are a family of 4 visiting the UK and I have got to say our selections of eggs on toast are the best we have ever had. Salmon special was ginormous! Lattes were also up there as the best ones we have ever had. The only downside is the toilet. But I couldn't give less stars as the food is truly amazing!

I can see why this cafe has such great reviews! It’s a gem in Phillip Island! The staff are incredibly friendly make you feel welcome. Such wonderful customer service and they were so understanding when our toddler accidentally made a spill, handling it with patience and a smile. The food was absolutely delicious—great quality and fantastic value. Awesome coffee too! We'll definitely be back on our next visit. Highly recommend!

Food is delicious. Nicely presented and well cooked. Good selection on the menu and pastries. Coffee needs a bit of work. A bit bitter and maybe the milk is too hot? For me the toilet is a big thumbs down. Could do with Some maintenance to improve the look of the outside area. A new toilet brush would be good. I always wonder about the hygiene of the kitchen staff when I see the toilets.

Bernadette and I have been here a number of times, although not recently. A lazy breakfast on a Saturday found us at Lugarno. The used to have a tiny premise but have now taken the space next door which has increased capacity and is much nicer. The coffee here is excellent, the good ok, standard sort of fare, I had the eggs Benedict which was ok, Bernadette had the garlic mushrooms which were nice but very garlicky, probably a touch too much. You have to pay as you order, you can’t run a tab for the table, so if you want another coffee you have to get up, approach the counter and pay for it, bit silly really, especially if staff are standing around, surely they can approach you if your cup is empty, make them more money too.! That’s the only gripe, otherwise all good.

We had a fantastic breakfast at Cafe Lugano. We had an egg, bacon and cheese roll with a beautiful relish. Well cooked - not overdone which was great. The brownie was fantastic - coming with fresh fruit, ice cream and coulis - would definitely go back again

We enjoyed breakfast here on the 3 mornings we were in Cowes. Good menu, really friendly, cheerful & good staff who run it very well. We both enjoyed the different meals we had and coffee is good. Lots of locals use this place and many are greeted by name as they arrive. Considering how busy it is, food arrives remarkably quickly. Highly recommended in Cowes.

Very nice breakfast, too much food. We ate here today after not being able to get to the island due to covid. We have eaten here many times and the food is always good, the service friendly and there’s plenty of parking around. I had the smashed avocado with feta , quinoa, sukkah and sourdough, and a couple of poached eggs, nice enough without being fantastic, a large portion which I struggled to finish. My wife had the Country Breakfast which had all the usual suspects and could have fed a small country, but nicely done nevertheless. In all reasonable coffee and friendly service, we’ll come back next time.
