Great food and lovely owners and staff

This Thai restaurant has moved from The Esplanade to the main street, Thompson Avenue, and is easily accessible from there or the car park behind the main shops. It means you now have to look a little harder to find it, but it is well worth the effort because the food is excellent. We have eaten there for several years each holiday we have there. You can't go past the delicious food and great people.

Delicious food, book early to avoid disappointment!

We have been missing Thai food and saw some great reviews for this restaurant. We booked a day before for 6pm and ordered the prawn pad thai, and one beef massaman curry with a serve of streamed rice (expecting to be able to fit in some dessert too). Going earlier for dinner was great as we were served rather quickly and decided to sit indoors. The restaurant have kept to Covid safe guidelines for physical distancing which is great. The food was amazing!! The BEST prawn pad Thai we have had in Melbourne..and we have eaten a lot of different prawn pad thais in Melbourne over the past 15 years. Flavour was bang on, prawns were fresh. Massaman curry was also delightful, light, freshly cooked and the beef was tender. The serve of rice was also very generous. We were both so stuffed and satisfied that we were too full for dessert. Service was also very polite and friendly and the restaurant is super popular for dine in and takaway. We highly recommend and will be back during our next trip to Phillip Island:).

Ordered Thai on the Island for dinner tonight, bloke who answered the phone was friendly. Was told about 45 mins for order to arrive, came in within 30-35mins. Cheers @Thaiontheisland. Will definitely order again! Pad Thai and Pad Satay were delicious!

More like Thai with attitude - terrible!

We were excited to try this place as we were craving Thai and we got a great welcome but it got turned very quickly. When you travel with kids it's not easy and at dinner it doesn't get easier. They are gonna make a mess and as a mother I will always clean up after them. But when you have a chef come round and tisk you because your child has made a mess or start getting the vacuum out to clean whilst you are still eating, it makes you feel so unwelcome and also makes you very angry. I've never had this happen before and to have this happen is disgraceful. I would not recommend this place to anyone because the staff are disrespectful and unwelcome to kids. Even when I voiced my opinion, they didn't care and got laughed about afterwards - what a terrible place that we will never go back to again.

Worst attitude from owner

We wanted to organise rice with no egg due to a food intolerance and the owner said 'no' was very rude did not offer any alternative and suggested we pick something else. Wait time was claimed to be between one to two hours so my daughter left. She had been spoken to so rudley that she was in tears and she is not that sort of person to just fall apart at the smallet thing! We have a place on the Island and were really disappointed to hear that this is how our 'hospitality' community could treat some one especially after all the time they have been unable to work!

Outstanding Thai food

This restaurant in Cowes on Phillip Island is a gem hidden away. I have eaten a lot of Thai food but this was the best I’ve ever had. The seafood was perfectly cooked and more than usual amounts in each serving. I can highly recommend seeking it out for excellent food.

We really felt like Thai takeaway

We really felt like Thai takeaway tonight, so I searched on Google and found Thai on the Island...... Wow, so good! It was so yum and I enjoyed it that much that I felt that I didn’t have to eat it all and it still left me completely satisfied but not feeling over full. The guy at the front counter was very friendly and had a bit of a blokes chat to me when I picked it up. We would definitely recommend this place, it was better than expected

Not Thai in Island. It’s crap on the island.

Chef doesn’t have a clue on how Thai food really tastes like. Pad Thai was floating in dark brown sauce Laksa was cust shag at soup The spiciest food was the most sweetest soup bath bowl. Please don’t disgrace Thai. That food is so good. People who rated well either never tasted Thai before or at the time there was different chef In a nut shell Waste of $180 S&$T on the island would be much suitable name for the food they provided.

Highly recommended Thai foods

Typical and classic Thai foods, very delicious. Tom Yum Kung(Prawns) is hot and spicy. Pad Takrai Ped(Duck stir fried with lemon grass and vegetables) is delicious, pieces of duck are tender. Still have coconut or mango ice cream and Thai desserts. Thai restaurant is not on Thompson Road but behind the shops, near car park not far from the beach.

Worst service ever

The person at the front desk was very rude when we entered asking “what did di you want?” We politely asked for a table for four as you are unable to book during summer. There were two free tables but he said they didn’t have any. Never had such bad service, would recommend giving this restaurant a miss. Customer service was appalling. Would give a zero rating if we could.

One of the best Thai

I have been here on 5 occasions and have been in Thailand 29 times . I must say they get all their dishes right . The taste is real Thai and home cooked like . The service is very good and quick . Everyone should taste their food because its authentic to the core. not many Thai restaurants make Thai food authentic,that's the point.

I can’t write a review on the food because….. 6 were dinning which was not booked as they don’t take bookings but got there early to ensure a table and there was plenty of room. I waited at entry and when they were free served me. I asked for a table of 6 and he immediately replied where is the other 5, I told him they were all park I g their cars and I was dropped off to get a table. He said I am not giving you a table for 6 until I see 6 people. After being so shocked with the reply I said they would only be a few minutes and he said I don’t care they need to be here. This was for my birthday dinner two other couples who were also local.. I said forget and his reply was that’s a good idea!! I was very upset.. we have never eaten there and never will. Our favourite food is Thai and I would rather drive to Melb. PS the Cafe was 1/3 full at the time.. I don’t not recommend going here because of the rudeness as I can’t comment on the food. I have never experienced anything like this before on the island. I never write anything like this but it had to be said.

Fantastic place to eat

Had evening meal here found just by chance. So glad we went in. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The food was perfect and prices very reasonable. Would highly recommend to people even with children. Thanks guys.

Lovely Take Away

We had take away Thai. Was delicious, the order didn't take long. It was not too 'heavy' with coconut milk/cream. The only thing is that it seems like they now only take cash (no cards) - which is unusual in these Covid times and people not wanting to handle cash. Hopefully this 'rule' will change.

Worth a visit

The place isn’t fancy but was very busy. Service was good but the food was better than good. The 3 dishes we shard were delicious & did not disappoint. If you enjoy Thai food definitely stop here.
